CU2 SC kits

I'm new to the Acura community and I am looking to add a SC to my CU2, but i am not familiar with brands for these cars. I read that CTE is popular for the roots style. Are there any other companies that put together kits either roots or centrifugal?

Thanks

Some of these kits come with a base map. Tho they recommend buying a Hondata unit for a custom tune.

Do I need to purchase this or can I take my car to a shop and have them tune it? Is there something I’m not understanding?

You will need a tool to change engine parameters. Hondata hooks up to the OBDII port to talk to your car's ECU. you can now change engine parameters via Hondata hooked up to the OBDII port.
without this computer tool, there will be no way of tuning the car.

AND depending on the year of TSX you have..Hondata might or might not be available to you

this tool (hondata) locks to your specific car's vin # and ECU.
you will have to purchase Hondata and have some one tune it for you.

Or, you could have a custom dyno tune done at a Hondata dealer that has on site reflash capability. I would, however, recommend that you simply buy the flashpro tool. Dyno tuning is not the end all, be all. It will get WOT where it needs to be, but if you care about drivability, have Vit Viper do an e tune for ya. In fact, buy the flashpro from him, and you will get a better deal than you would by purchasing everything a la carte.

I have a pretty extensive thread over in the 2nd gen photos that covers my SC build with CTE supercharger. VitViper is def the way to go as far as buying hondata and getting your tune. Its the best bang for your buck, and you get the benefit of a driveable car, not just WOT tuning.

Still hoping someone puts a detailed Kraftwerks/rotrex build with half the amount of info your thread has on the cte kit.
