Is CT-Engineering Icebox carb legal in CA?

I'm just wondering if any of you guys know if the CTE icebox is carb legal in CA. I went to get my car smoged and they said I needed a carb sticker. I thought that this was one of the only CAI legal in CA? Did any of you guys get a carb sticker when you purchased yours? I called CT-engineering and they said to send a pic of the intake installed with the VIN #. Then they responded a week later stating that they are still awaiting approval from CA to make it carb legal. I bought this intake thinking it was legal about 2-years ago and just want to know if anybody on the forum did recieve a carb sticker in the past from CT-Engineering for CA? Any info helps! Thanks guys!

They do not list their intake as being CARB legal on their website, so I doubt it is. They have been very unresponsive lately despite our best efforts to get in touch with them.

You are better off going with an intake like the AEM or Injen.

Injen Air Intake - SP Series Intake System - Excelerate Performance - Japanese and European Performance Specialists!!

Let me know if you decide to sell it.
I'm not concerned about it not being CARB certified and will pay you top dollar for it.

I'm pretty sure they are going to be out of the business soon, based on the numerous reports of them not responding even to vendors.

Really sad

my CT-E Intake came with CARB EO# sticker. It is CARB Legal if it bears a sticker. It's the only way Smog stations know it is legal. they will not put the effort to research about your intake whether it's OK or not.

Only legal EO# listed on BAR websites are found here, for CT-E http://arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/de...eo/D-637-2.pdf

Database: Aftermarket Parts Database of Executive Orders

2nd gen TSX is not listed.

I've been able to get in touch with them lately and they've been helpful, so hopefully that's a good sign!

my 2010 tsx with a ct-e icebox failed a smog check in california. while there is a carb sticker on the intake, the eo code doesn't match one that is accepted in california. i attempted to contact ct-engineering, but there has been no response.

does anyone know what recourse i have? do i have to reinstall my original intake and then take the car back in?

A few things you can do.

1. Go to a different smog place, some just look at the sticker and don't bother running the numbers through the BAR to make sure it apply's to your car.
2. Put OEM back
3. Hope CT-E contacts you and gives you updated CARB sticker, which if you look at the bar website they never filed for one for 2009-2014 TSX, at least in the search for that same EO #

Wouldn't it make more sense to go on a CTE supercharged car like mine?
