Clutch Kit and Flywheel Swap

Hi Guys,

I have a K24Z3 Accord (Cu2) with the full RBC Swap. I am considering doing a K20 exedy clutch kit with a FN2 flywheel conversion. Has anyone done this before? All inputs and suggestions welcome please.

Thanks so much!

Greg

And just after I posted this, I saw a similar thread about a lighter flywheel...

Is it as simple as turning off Misfire Detection on FP Manager? And Voila?

Its just that simple as that. Make sure you have confidence in the tune because it does eliminate that function completely. I’ve been running a dc5 flywheel with my exedy stage 1 for about three years now with no issues.

Thanks so much.

The car is already tuned by VIT. Will I need to retune it after the clutch install? Or can I just open the existing map in FP Manager and deselect the misfire detection option? (Sorry, I am a true noob with this stuff)

That's all you gotta do. Turn that off, save the tune and upload it. You wont have any problems. You shouldn't need to do any more tuning, it'll probably just throw you off a little in the beginning how quickly the revs drop when shifting. You will get used to it though.

We also have another thread in here (I think I made it-- Official Flashpro thread) where we also cover settings to help reduce rev hang. Good luck dude.

Thanks bro!

I also spoke to Vit, he said the same thing. No retune needed. Only if there is problems, we turn off the misfire detection and it should be fine.

Is there also any hand-holding information that describes how to reduce throttle lag? I looked into a device that runs inline with the pedal, but it's pretty expensive and generally most people reccomend to get the car tuned properly. If I can fix the rev hang + thorttle lag it might persuade me into dropping the cash on the tuner

Hi Guys. Did the swap. Car feels VERY different. At first, we drove with the unmodified map. Went fine for about 5km. Then LIMP mode and Engine Light. Loaded the new map with MISFIRE DETECT off and all is perfect!

Feels like Im riding on Aladins magic carpet. Even steering is so much lighter. Revving up much faster but I havent given it a full go yet. Trying to break in the clutch for 500km or so, and will then do some agressive driving. All in all, was a great success! Thanks for all the help and advice guys!

PS: Is there a CU2 whatsapp group out there?
