running drl at full voltage

I have some LED 9005 in the high beams. I have some resistors JnC made me up so I can get them to work with no CEL.

I put my multimeter on the high beam socket when drl should be on and I get 2.5 - 3.0v.

I want to use a relay to power the DRL so I get the full 12v going to them.

my relay, and most I have seen, need about 9v to trigger.

so

how do I make the 2.5v trip the 12v relay.

yeah. the high beams trip the relay and it all works fine cause its 12v.

the drl voltage will not.......SO

what do I do to rectify that LOL

i have a voltage regulator that I can trip with a 9 volt and a 6 volt battery . thats all i can test on my BENCH so tomorrow I will see if the drl signal trips that regualtor. it will max out at 10 volts but thats better than 3

your relay will chatter, DRL is a 12V PWM signal that your meter will read 2.5-3V average. Straight 12VDC high beam

what i was saying was why not just leave your highbeams on, and that'll be your DRL, at 12 full volts

Oh. Lol.

That's too easy. And I would have to remember to turn them.
