NAV and Trip computer seem to "freeze"

Hi- I have a 2004 TSX with an onboard NAV. I have a relatively updated NAV DVD (2008, I think). My wife drives the car mostly. She told me that up until recently, the NAV has been working fine. Now, it seems to "freeze" or lose its place along a route randomly. This causes the system to frequently recalculate the route and we have missed turns because of it. I have also noticed that the trip computer will stop responding periodically. Normally, when the car is moving, you will see the blue bar moving on the screen, indicating your real-time MPG. This seems to happen most often when I am driving on the highway--in a straight line. I do not notice this happening when I am driving in the city and making frequent turns. I took it in to the dealer and they suggested a NAV upgrade. I am open to buying a new DVD, but before I make that purchase, I wanted to see if anyone here has seen this. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately you are at the wrong place, this is 2G (2nd Generation 2009+), try post it on the 1G forum (2004-2008).

The 2010 NAV disk cost $185 for your car, http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INT...gationMenu=YES

Make sure it's not the GPS antenna or something else causing the problem. Have you taken the DVD disk out, clean it and reload it again. Sometimes a reboot helps.
