Installed Aftermarket Subs, Amp And Capacitor
I recently Installed an aftermarket Subwoofer in my TSX Tech. It wasnt to difficult using a LOC off of the rear subwoofer wires. I drilled a hole in the firewall to get the power wire through because i dont believe in running it through a rubber grommet running the wire along drivers side was easy. Also ran a remote wire from my amp to the drop down cubby on the left of the steering wheel, drilled a small hole and bought a nice switch at a local hardward store and mounted it inside. I chose to use a switch because sometimes i dont like all the bass like at 6 am when im driving to work lol so it gives me the flexibility to turn it on and off when i want. I bought a 2000w Power Acoustik Amp and 2 12" kicker Comp VR 2-ohm subs in a sealed box. I would never buy any other subwoofer besides kicker there warrant service is great and they make the best sub on the market and relatively inexpensive. Also i installed a 2 Farad capacitor just to help with the stress an aftermarket system can put on a cars Alternator and electrical system, easy to install with a cheap test light to charge it. System is ridiculously loud and i couldnt be happier. I love being able to control the subwoofer from the head-unit which is the reason i chose to run the LOC of the rear sub. Ill post some pictures some are horrible but you get the idea i hadnt completely zip tied and cleaned up all the wiring lol also dont mind the jumper cables in the trunk my GF's car had an issue that day.

HAHA, ya i did it all myself. Ive installed alot of systems for friends, family and myself over the years. And im not exactly looking for a new friend especially someone from new york lol (redsox fan). But i could always charge you to put in a system and that could be beneficial for me

Word on the street is that JL Audio's 12W7 sounds more like two 12's..... Comes with a price tag, but apparently it's the shit. Just saying, that's what I heard. Lol

I found a spot just over the gas pedal where there is an existing hole with a plug on the engine bay side. I poked the plug out from the inside with my finger and then I used a chassis punch to enlarge the engine bay side to 7/8 for my 4ga water proof gourmet. The inside opening is larger than the engine side. I have a nice tight seal and it was a breeze to run the wire down the driver’s side after that. I did not use a drill since I had no room in the engine bay and I didn’t want metal all over the gas pedal unit.

Can any body answer the above two questions? I have searched the forums and google quite a bit and can't find pictures showing how to tap LOC into existing subwoofer. A guide showing how to run a power wire from the battery would be awesome too.
Any help is appreciated as I'm a new TSX owner.
Thank you!

BlackNsexy thank you very much!! I am installing the amp and sub that I'm bringing over from my other car. They pair together well. The amp is a SoundOrdinance and the sub is a JL Audio 10" sealed box that I both got from Crutchfield.
I will study your write up very well before doing anything to my new baby.
Thanks again!
