How to make a legit backup copy of the 4.81 or 4.xx navigation disk

Hi,

I have been looking all over for a way to make a backup copy of my 4.81 navigation disk. I have used Roxio to create an iso of the disk then burned the image back to new Verbatim - DL disk. The image and burning process complete with no problems but my TSX will not read the disk. Can someone please help or point me in the right direction. Thank you in advance for any and all help.

I seem to remember (from the TL forum) that the Navi seems to only work with DVD-R DL discs. Is this what you used?

Verbatim DVD+R DL in a brand new HP DVD1270 DL internal burner using Roxio Digital Media Plus Suite.

Can you post a link to that thread? From what I can tell it's not a matter of vehicle as it is a matter of the version of the nav disk. I think they only make one disk for all vehicles?

Thanks again.

I think I read somewhere that our DVD-ROM drives can detect whether the disk inserted is one which has been "burned" vs. one which is an original "stamped" copy... If it detects a burned copy it won't read the data.

I was able to successfully burn a copy of my 2006 navi DVD...used the copy instead of the original with zero problems. Haven't tried in my 2010.
