BLUETOOTH AUDIO LAG - 2012 TSX - iPhone4

I've noticed a 2-3 sec bluetooth audio lag using an iPhone 4 with my new 2012 TSX (Tech).

This did not occur with my 2009 TSX (Tech) & the exact same iPhone 4 via Bluetooth Audio.

I've upgraded my iPhone 4 firmware to iOS 5.1 since purchasing my new 2012 TSX.

I'd like to determine whether the iPhone 4 firmware update or the new 2012 TSX Bluetooth audio system is the culprit.

Does anyone know if Bluetooth Audio has changed on the Acura 2012 models?

Thanks!

Mine does the same thing on my 2012 SE and iPhone4. It happens when I want to go to the next or previous song ...

you never noticed it on your 2009? I'm pretty sure this is common with all bluetooth audio, it might be more pronounced on your 2012 but I think all bluetooth audio has a bit of lag.

I have several bluetooth audio devices and I notice it on all of them.

The audio is always lagging, but you obviously notice it when interacting with your phone.

Do you know which firmware (iOS) your iPhone 4 is using? Is it 4.x or 5.x?

Nope.. it was indistinguishable on the 2009 model TSX. If there was audio lag it had to be less than a second. I'm getting a 3 second lag on my 2012 TSX. I also use a multitude of Bluetooth devices & this lag is by far the most noticeable.

interesting, maybe they used a cheaper bluetooth chip in the 2012. I have lag in my 2010 but it doesnt really bother me.

Yep, possibly.. I also noticed the volume is significantly lower when maxed out on my iPhone. Oh well, not much I can do about it. Loading up my USB thumb drive as MP3's sound amazing.

+1 here.

I tried playing a video on my iPad today while sitting in the car, and the audio was noticeably behind the video. I can also confirm that this is not the case with 3rd-party bluetooth receivers.

So it's most likely the Bluetooth receiver on the new 2012 TSX models that is the culprit. I wonder if something like a firmware update could solve the problem or if the hardware has changed & is inferior.

This really bothers me as I use Bluetooth audio quite frequently. I will mention the problem to my dealer and see what they come up with.

I have a 2012 TSX / iPhone 4 and my BT audio lags as well, although not 2-3 seconds. It's right at about a second for me. At first I thought it might be buffering audio as I am usually playing Pandora, but it's clearly not the case as I can type out a text message (while parked of course) and the iOS "clicking" noise is about a second behind over the stereo.

I was in iOS 5.0.

I haven't tried it since using an 8gb usb stick is a better user experience.
