Winter tire size
Can someone please advise which winter tire size should I be looking for, for: 2012 TSX 2.4 on the OEM wheels 7.5*17
From searching the internet I see that narrower tire and higher profile is better for winter tires, so I am not sure why are all the tire purchasing websites giving me the same stock tire size option which is 225/50-17
After checking few calculators and narrowing down my choices I am not sure which option is the best:
215/50-17 (-1.5% change in diameter)
215/55-17 (+1.8%)
205/50-17 (-3%)
205/55-17 (+0.1%) - I am not sure if this one is the best for the 17 inch rims because some calculators listed 215 and 225 as ideal widths.

The dealer will tell u to stick to stock...of course.
I am using 215/55/17 because it was MASSIVELY cheaper and its narrower, which helps in deeper snow, packed snow, and ice. I live in the Chicago burbs...so...we don't see much deep snow, TBH. But still...MASSIVELY cheaper.
I went with Blizzak WS80's for my wife's car because of their reviews.
But honestly, I like the Michelin XI3 on my car a million times more. They're way more driveable and honestly, the acceleration traction is notably better.

Stock size in stock Michelin with chains is what I use yearly
chains required by law here

Yup
not pleasant
but law is the law.
last two years I used narrower Nokians when I had the car in extreme northern weather.
ironically, hardly extreme weather here, but chains needed due to 2wd
