Will TLX Be Your Next Car?
Now that we have seen the new TLX, how many of you will convert?
I am lukewarm myself. It's a nice looking car but it lacks the wow factor IMO. If the price is right, I might jump ship.
Glad that the 4-cyl engine is still available.

The answer is, yes.
I don't think I'll be making the move anytime soon though, as my TSX is about to be LSD equipped and turbo charged. But in the future, yes.
I do not like how I am treated at other dealers. Acura cares that I took the time to stop by.

My TL is my first Acura but it's my fourth Honda product. I had never crossed shopped before but as of late I haven't been impressed. So there is a good chance that it my be my last Acura/Honda as well.

I love my TSX. When the time comes for me to get rid of it, I will most likely get a newer TSX. Maybe I'll pick up a two year old 2014 by then...and I might have over 200K on my 09!
Also, maybe by then they will offer a 6MT in the TLX...
After seeing the ILX, I was anticipating disappointment with the TLX. I know I am not the only one either. After looking at the pics, I am quite impressed. The swooped body line that I do not like on the ILX works well on the TLX. I must say I really like this car.
The rear of this car is very nice. Maybe I am dated, but I would have also liked to see some exhaust tips on the TLX, just as I would have liked to see them on the ILX. I guess that this is not the "way of the new world." I may have to seek professional help to get over it, but I must!
Regardless, I think Acura did a great job with the design of this car. I can't wait to see one in person. It is possible that I will consider one.
I really hope they consider a 6MT though. It's hard to fathom that it is a dying breed! Some of us still like to row our own gears!

Maybe once it gets a refresh. That chrome trim on the rear needs to go. Overall looks decent but who knows what the real one will look like later on.

I think the TLX looks great, but I probably won't get one unless they offer a manual transmission, preferably in the V6/AWD version, but I'd happily consider the four if it has enough power. I wouldn't be surprised to see a VTEC Turbo within a couple of years, and that could be the answer with MT and AWD. The 2.4 could be a tweaked version of the Accord's engine, and might be a stopgap until the VTEC Turbos are ready.
If I absolutely, positively, had to buy something this year, I doubt it would be the TLX, but who knows? Let's remember we haven't driven it yet!

I don't want to give up my 10' TSX just yet. I'm one of the few that prefer the 2nd Gen over my first Gen in most ways. I do however love the way the TLX looks as I keep looking at the pics and that red paint is just amazing. I hope it makes it to production as well as a Vortex Blue.
Maybe during the mid production refresh I may bite the bullet and get a V6 SH-AWD - wishful thinking is that they will have a manual and maybe even a TypeS variant.
My next car must be a V6 and I really do want AWD for the handling responsibilities. My friends 4G TL SHAWD handles like a champ.
It will be on my short list between a BMW or Audi...but I'd rather stay with the Honda family because they have been VERY good to my over the years.

I will wait until I see the finished product. I saw the ILX shell at the auto show years ago and dug it but then when the finished product came out and I drove it, it ended up not being for me at all.
I am also leery of any Honda/Acura first year product after what I have gone through with a few over the years. Nothing too major thankfully but definitely enough to give me a headache and make me think twice. Plus this one is going to have a TON of new technology and firsts for Acura, so...
But that's the bad. The good is that I really like what I am seeing so far and do think this car may be the ticket to get me to stay with the brand.

No idea. I looked for a new car for 2 years, another 50k miles on my last car as i pondered.
Ended up with a tsx wagon of all things which wasn't on the road when i started looking (still not one could argue!).
I'm at least 4 years away from the next daily driver, but i do think this tlx is visually nicer than i expected.

If I buy another Acura, it will be a TLX. From everything I have seen, I like it a lot. Love my TSX so much I hope to keep it for a long time.

No.. I plan to keep my TSX for another 4 / 5 years. Then probably get a WRX or STI. No more 2WD cars.

Too early to say, but it looks promising. After spending quality time with the RLX recently, I feel as though the reports of Acura's death have been slightly exaggerated.
Since I might be driving across the country later this year, I might just use the TSX for that then trade it in for a TLX is the numbers and interior pan out.

it looks alright to me. kinda looks like a blend of different designs. my 09 TSX is paid off and I'll be driving it till it dies (gotta pay em student loans back and grad school). I think I'll be leaving the Acura family with my next car. The brand just seems so boring now and not very innovative. I really dig the new C-class, the Infiniti Q50 and the F1 that they have planned and even the Lexus. heh basically every other brand

I may be fat but I'm slow
My two complaints about my TSX are 1) slow and 2) FWD. I wanted a SH-AWD 2.0T. If they come out with one, I'll probably buy it. I'm not paying what I expect the SH-AWD V6 will cost, and the 2.4L probably won't be enough of a step up from the TSX.

Acura hit a home run in my book here. Congrats to Honda!!! Good job! I've been waiting for them to make a good car that I would want and this is it!!!
But no I will not be getting this sadly. I'm gonna stick to my 2009 Civic SI...until Honda builds me my dream car.
a quiet fully loaded SH-AWD V6 beast with all the bells and whistles!
But soon I might want to upgrade so I'm hoping the all new A4 comes soon. Might just get an S4 version of it, quattro + 6mt makes me
If the top of the line TLX SHAWD came with a 6MT or 7MT I would most likely be a day one purchase for me. Maybe next gen or refresh? If I'm still in market I'll return home. <3

It looks ok from some angles and a little too conservative from others. The chrome on the front and rear and window trim need to go.
The car has potential but a lot would need to be spent on after market. And Who wants to do that once they've spent approx $40,000 on a car already.

Sticking with my 12 SE 6 Speed.. I am putting like 6K a year on the car, so I will like use my buy option at the lease end. Only think I wish I had more tech, but I think I am going to build a custom mount for a tablet and call it a day.

I think I'm going to put myself in the clear minority of this forum but I'm actually pleased and a fan of the current Acura style language. From the TLX pictures that have been posted, I'm a definite fan of the design. In particular, I think I'd be most interested in the SH-AWD version but unsure which engine/transmission combo I'd go with.
A slight digression on the massive amounts of "Acura is doomed" wails I've seen as of late...
The days of Acura being the company known for high revving and buzzy Integras is probably a thing of the past going forward. Tech/gizmos/gadgets/plushness are what sells in the high end market nowadays. The best examples I can think of is comparing an early 90's Mercedes S-class with the just released 2014 version. The old version had a very "all business" interior that shrugged of such conveniences as a tilt steering wheel, cup holders or a digital clock. The new version has more LCD screens than a middle class house and even a freaking perfume dispenser thingies for the interior. It's not as if Mercedes decided to design an S-class to lose money, they are going where the market is suggesting....for better or worse. The next example is of the cult classic E36 early 90's BMW 3-series. Wood grain wasn't even available on most trims!! Look at the current 3-series, more bells and whistles than ever before but often criticized for being more disconnected with the driver. Alas, the new versions of each car handily outsell their predecessors.
While the old Legend was a great car (it was my "dream car" as a teenager) I think this upcoming TLX is a proper successor to it in spirit. While not exactly a lover of the new RLX I do think it's a good direction for the company to move in - cutting edge tech with PAWS, SH-AWD, and hybrid power trains that help haul ass while saving gas.
In summary, I'll modify a phrase that some of you history buffs may recognize: "God save Acura! Long live Acura!"

Oh no doubt. But I'll happily lose drag races and any race all day long to dual clutches and I'll be happy just rowing my own gears. I don't care that its faster, its the experience. Im not into racing.

It is a good looking car though it does have more of a larger ILX look that is suited to the rest of the current Acura lineup (to include my '13 RDX). That said, I think that our 2013 Accord suits our needs for a sedan and that if we were to trade we'd look at the upcoming Honda Vezel. But I don't see either of our cars going anywhere anytime soon.
