Why it was made that way question.

The very bottom piece that runs below the doors from the beginning of the back wheel to the back of the front wheel... why is it cut about three or four inches back from the front wheel instead of a solid piece all the way to the wheel? The very bottom (almost under the car) is solid on that piece, but if you move up a few inches it is flexible not to mention the gap.

Is this designed for splashguards or a skirt kit installation or something?

My guess is the added lenght was needed to fit the v6 in the front and instead of manufacturing a new part, used the existing mold and just added the extra piece. When Honda introduced the first v6 Accord (1995?), the front was about 3 inches longer from the doors to the bumper over the I4.

^ yeah I sorta thought that or the Euro Accord is shorter than the American TSX... make it on the same frame but push stuff out abit without major re-tooling.
