What are your top complaints about the TSX?
I dont drive a TSX but I drove one when they gave me a loaner. My biggest complaint was it was hurting my right knee. I drive a TL and its smooth by the center console where my right knee would rest sometimes and the TSX had a little ridge that would be painful on my knee after a few minutes of driving.
When DRLs first appeared cars equipped with them stood out like 'sore thumbs'. They were noticed more then cars without DRLs. Then all cars started having DRLs and all cars looked the same again.
Then BMW and Merc etc came out with HID and they stood out from the crowds who had DRLs or 'normal' bulbs.
Now all cars have DRLs and most cars have HID. Everything looks the same again.
My theory is that the more you are like everyone else the less you stand out. If you 'look' different people will notice you more. No I don't have pink hair.
So I do for a few reasons.
So that I am noticed more then all the other cars on the road, especially with my yellow fogs.
Because nothing annoys me more then the idiots driving around at night with only the DRLs on thinking that all their lights are on when they are not.
I hate what the car looks like with only the DRL's on.

Hey Lou,
I don't know if you were aware of it or not, but the music, HFL and nav voice volume are all separate. The only time I get loud seat belt voice is when I mute her altogether. Navi volume is under menu, then settings, I believe. The hfl volume can be adjusted with the radio volume knob when in HFL.
Someone else here pointed out to me about a bright adjustment on the backup cam by turning the multi-knob to the right for brighter and left for dimmer. You have to be in reverse therefore activating the camera to adjust it.
Hope that helps.

The dimmer is my problem. I like the inside of my car as dark as possible when I'm driving at night so I turn the dim switch on the cluster way down. When I start the car in the morning it's still set to the dim setting so the camera works off that setting. Until the annoying Acura Navigation screen disappears the sun/moon button doesn't work so I can't brighten the camera.
Thanks again for the help.
Someone here more tech savvy than I pointed out the camera adjustment, wait a minute, it may have been my 9 year old. =/
The dimmer adjustment knob is in an awkward place. If only the sun/moon/off knob would change the dash lights in their entireity to a pre-selected range with the knob, it'd be perfect.

I've had my V6 for 2,000 miles and here are my complaints.
1) Mirrors not being linked to memory settings
2) No dimming on the mirrors
3) No heating core in the passenger seat back.
4) Jumpy rear suspension.
My 99 Accord with the four wheel double wishbone was a lot more composed
when going over speed bumps. The multi-link rear design is s step back.
5) Out dated low resolution Navi screen. That's why I didn't get it LOL! I instead
spent the upgrade funds on getting a V6.
And with the Navi you have to push the disclaimer button every single time you
get in the car. It will dive me nuts.

4. And no keyless start option.
The GPS screen was fine until I drove a new TL. It was like going from CGA to VGA.
My other complaint has to do with the "not an ashtray" and other covers in that area. The silver slivers vibrate depending on the road conditions and is the one thing that rears its head on a regular basis.

1. Driver seat hurts my lower back, optimal seating position took forever to find, and even now my back hurts slightly.
2. No "smartkey" offered, honestly if that was offered in the tech package then i would have never got the base model, it is very convenient when both my hands are full and i have to fish for my remote to open the door.
3. No "cool" seats standard/offered with tech package. Come on Acura, what happened to "advance" and "becoming a more lux brand". More and more brands are offering heated and cooled seats now.

My car is 2009 Premium package (without Nav and extra audio system), now at 600km and here are problems I have with the car:
1) jumpy suspension over holes/bumps
2) lower back hurt in the driver seat, even for non-long trips
3) noticeable road noise ~ 100km/h; I normally turn up the sound system volumn to kind of hide the road noise
4) HFL's voice recognition and interface/control is not so good
5) center console is sensitive to scratches.

Guys, what type of tires do you have as OEM? We have here the Yokohama db summer tires. These tires are one of the biggest shits ever (as every low-adhesive-eco-terrorists-friendly-tire).
Many people said, that they THINK that Honda is putting these tires on TSX because they are quieter - so they are trying to hide the tire-roll noise.

i disagree, my stock tires had around 36,000 miles before i bought new rims and tires, and i have at least another 10,000 miles left on the stock tires. an approximate of 50,000 miles for a sports sedan is pretty good to me.
Agreed. Mine had 30,000 on them when I replaced them and that was just because one got a nail in the side so couldn't be patched. Still had a decent amount of tread on them and tires wear out much faster here with the crappy roads and heat.
i guess we have different streets then because they had about 16,000 miles on them when I got a flat but it had probably another 5,000 or 10,0000 at most but this is NY streets....not sure where you live.
my biggest complaints so far:
- when the iPod is connected, there is no way to skip down quickly through artists...the only way is to spin the big fat wheel button around and around for 20 seconds. i looked in the manual and didn't see anything about a fast page-down feature or anything. am i missing something?
- is there any way for XM to default to show the artist or the song instead of the genre (pop, rock, etc)? every time i turn on the car, i have to hit the title button to show the artist, and it's annoying. holding the title button in just changes the channel selection to genre selection.

1. Lack of padding in center and drivers door armrests.
2. Seat back stitching - horizontal rib in the middle of my back.
3. Steering - wants to wander on the highway, need to keep both hands on wheel.
Love the handling, but could use a softer suspension this time of the year. I feel every bump in the road.
I can't believe all of you with headroom problems. I thought I was tall at 6'6", but don't come within 2" of the headliner. I can barely see over the dash. Do you all put the seat all the way back and lower it to the lowest setting? It's a little difficult getting out of the car since I am further back than the door opening and my knees are higher than my butt.
Other than a few knit picks, I think it is a great car and looks a lot better than the Accords. And no one else in the my area has one!

press down and hold. It will scroll relatively fast. Just have to guestimate when you're there though screen goes blank
press down and hold what? i can't press down the scroll wheel...what am i missing here? i have seriously tinkered with every button on there and can't figure it out. i was hoping that there would be a higher-level scroll so you can browse artists by first letter (spin wheel once to get to F, hit select, then scroll down again to select foo fighters, for example).
man come on guys. im all excited to buy a 2010 tsx with tech in the next 2-3 weeks and then i read this thread. are things that bad?
also, what issues are different between the 2009 and 2010s? they cant all be the same.

^ keep in mind a lot of these are very minor and some are just personal taste. its a good car, my friend who has a IS350 event commented on how my car is pretty nice when he sat in it. i say, go for it and dont worry
i have a non tech 2009 with S Tech springs. 1.6" front. 1.4" rear with OEM shocks. i dont know what the 2010 drives like so i cannot compare them
lowering your car with springs or coilovers will improve the twitchy feeling of the steering wheel. also the suspension got more firm and grips a lot better now.
the exterior, interior and the technology is what sold me on the car. i felt the steering and suspension was kinda off when i first test drove it, but i knew that i was going to modify the suspension which made it feel like a different car in a better way.

The 2010 has slightly revidsed steering and also the caller ID in the MID was changed to improve its appearance. This is what i read in the press release from acura.
i cross-shopped a 2010 TSX with a 2010 VW GTI. if you want to really see tons of owners with initial quality problems and other niggles, go read their forums. it's pretty bad, and for me, completely unacceptable if i'm buying a car for $26-28k.
these TSX "problems" are mostly personal preference. the problems with the VW are real...misaligned driver's side doors are widespread and cause wind rush at 50+ mph, their iPod connection sucks (bad sound quality, crackling) to the point that many owners just recommend filling up a USB drive and going that route, widespread rattles, suspension making weird noises going over bumps, DSG problems/failures due to VW making changes between 2007 and 2008-2010 models, widespread problems with water condensation on the inside of the windshield, leaking rear windshield fluid, and other problems. add to that the "normal" electronic problems you get with VWs and you have yourself a pretty average car in terms of fit/finish/reliability. however, it is fun to drive. very fun. i'll just never buy one.
there are always going to be some lemons, but your chances of having a relatively flawless car go way up if you stick with honda over some other manufacturers.
