At this point, I'd trade in my 2012 TSX for the new 2013 RDX. I had a 2012 RDX but due to paint flaws I was able to switch cars. I decided for the TSX due to gas mileage and my money situation and was happy for a while. The RDX would have been an additional $4000 down payment to get my payments where they were at on my 2012 RDX.

Anyways, after the first steady rain fall with my TSX, I want AWD back. I mean sure, the new RDX isn't SH-AWD and that's a bummer, but living in Illinois, I'm dreading the snow now. Once you've done AWD in rain and snow nothing compares...

...other than winter tires.

Yesterday I tried a contender I forgot to mention in my earlier post -- Ford Focus ST. Damn, that is a sweet ride! I loved the engine, tranny, handling, and highway composure. It's like a Mazdaspeed 3 with most of the rough edges sanded off. In fact, I think it's actually quieter than my TSX on the highway. I'd probably prefer it to my TSX 95% of the time, but with the cramped cabin, harder ride, and smaller cargo compartment, it just wouldn't cut it as a family car. (Of course, the Europeans will get an ST wagon that would solve some of this.) I also think my wife would HATE the Recaros, and the huge turning radius is a real issue here in downtown Philly. Oh well. Great car that deserves the hype; expect it on the auto mag "best" lists.

98 US ITR was the first acura i ever bought.
i LOVED that car. it was such a blast to drive and i was coming from a 94 FD TT Rx7 which was tough to compete with.

i almost did the JDM conversion but ended up selling it for a 05 Accord V6 coupe. i wish i would have kept the ITR.

Cars I would consider:

1. 2013 or 2014 (when it's out) Lexus ES300H - I like the new interior of the new ES, and the car has the same amount of HP as the current TSX but with about 40 mpg combined driving according to EPA estimates. The con is that the sticker price of this car will likely be close to 50K OTD if I get the Mark Levinson Surround Sound System which I would 90% likely do because the ELS surround got me hooked. Can't go to a stereo in a car again.

2. Hypothetical 2014 Acura TLX Hybrid - If the interior really appeals to me, it will earn points. The other crucial part is if this car can really provide the hypothetical 45 mpg that I saw in a couple articles. If the Honda Accord 4 cylinder is getting 36 mpg on the highway with the Earth Dreams engines, then the new accord Hybrid should be getting at least 45 mpg as well....

3. Toyota Camry Hybrid - A car with the JBL surround sound audio (which Honda Accords don't provide....), nav, and all the goodies should still be way under the Lexus ES 300h. Unfortunately, I can't get a black on black car anymore based on building the car... .

4. 2014 Acura ILX Hybrid - A little disappointed that this car in 2013 didn't come with dual power seats and memory seating. Also, the mileage of the car is exactly the same as the Lexus ES 300H and the car with the tech package is at 35K MSRP. A base ES 300H is just 3K more. I put up 2014 just to see if Acura adds these features in, and if the Earth Dreams Engine gets in her for 2014. I don't know how the ILX can sell very well if Earth Dreams is on the TLX hybrid when it would get presumably better fuel econ than the ILX hybrid. Doesn't add up to me at least.

As you can tell I really want a hybrid. However, I also don't want a Prius as my flagship car at least, and would like to have a pretty normal looking car to the extent possible.

I test drove a Lexus ES 350 and IS 250 before picking the TSX up and the fun to drive factor was a large reason why. The ES at least felt and looked like an old man's car to me. The new ES has a much improved look imo, and unlike the current Acura hybrid which only has eco mode, the ES has the eco and sport modes.

I like the IS more than the ES to be honest as well and I would think that there's a hybrid car for that line too.

Driving a TSX means you DO NOT have or want to dish out the dough for a high end sports car but still want the looks of one with the added bonuses of fuel economy, space, and basic practicality. I'd love to say s4, m3, m5, gtr, etc but that's not happenin anytime soon. For now, I'd love the v6 instead my current v4.

If the FR-S was sold as the GT-86 like it should have been, I'd consider it. Yes, I'm being a badge snob, but I wouldn't want to tell people I drive a Scion.

That being said, in the same price range, I'd probably give the ATS a shot. I also regret never seriously looking at the S60 when I was in the market.

In the end though, I couldn't be happier with my TSX.

My lease ends in the spring. My pay off will be around $18,000. Looking at other used cars in that price range I'd consider a 2011+ mustang GT, 2-3 year old WRX, 2-3 year old 3 series, or maybe even a 2-3 year old Camaro.

I keep telling myself I'd be an idiot for giving back this TSX as its been trouble free and a solid performer up till now. Maybe I'll just buy it at lease end then save up for a weekend fun car in like 2-3 years?

I love my 2012 TSX Tech. As an older guy who has married daughters, I have to think about grandkids, and might move to the fuel efficient fully loaded Honda Accord touring with lots of warning systems. If they drop the same direct injection engine and technology into next year's CRV, that might move me to my first SUV ever. Car wise, I would lean towards A BMW 3 series, although to get comparable features, I'd be paying somewhat more, although the additional power and tourque would be fun...until the first few fills and tickets I think i'll stay with my TSX. Looks good inside and out, handles well, fun to drive, reliable, fuel efficient, an awesome sound system.....etc, etc.

Luckly i dont have a to trade mine in. im trying to trade my wife's 11 328xi sedan for a 09ish 335 coupe MT. but she isnt going for it, yet.
though i do have a plan to own an m3 before i turn 30.

im not crazy about the wheels and no performance mods it seems but it looks pretty sharp.

im hopin they do the same stuff on the inside as the SE TSX with the lux suede inserts, red accents..etc

i seriously might consider giving my TSX to the wife, trade in her 12 accord and pickin one of the HFPs up in the spring. hehehe

the inside would def have to be pretty awesome though.
so far, im willing to bet the aero kit can be bought aftermarket and those wheels are so so..
if thats all the changes then its not worth the extra $4600.
you could prob get that whole kit, coils, spoiler and nice wheels for around 3k

That is a sharp looking coupe! I've always liked the accord coupes just does not seem as practical as a daily as I've grown older.

The only reason why I would get rid of my TSX would be to get something that has much better gas mileage because I blow through it pretty quickly. I probably would look at an ILX hybrid first, but the fancy Priuses have lots of high-end bells and whistles, too.

I care much more about the creature comforts and quality/reliability of the car vs. the power/speed of the car.
