What will my monthly payments look like at 4.99% financing? (new member here, hello!)

hello everyone!

i have been a member of driveaccord and found a link here. lately i'm leaning towards the 2009 tsx over the 2008 accord.

i will probably be making a $15,000 down payment (is that a lot? too little? i am completely clueless at buying cars).

i saw on acura's website that they are offering 4.99% APR to qualified buyers for 60 months.

how much would my monthly payments be?

if 15,000 is too little, how much more should I pay up front?

if it's too much, what is a good amount to pay up front?

thanks again everyone!

(BTW the 2009 tsx looks AMAZING!!!)

At that rate for 60 months, you will be looking at about 20/month per 1000 borrowed. Its a good general rule of thumb

http://www.defenselink.mil/mapsite/carpay.html is one of many loan calculators on the web or you can use a business (or scientific) calculator to calculate it.

The 4.99% is for recent graduates, btw.

Here's a general breakdown of how much you're paying based on 60 month terms at the rate posted, and how much that translates to a balance left on a theoretical $34,000 OTD purchase price (34k - 15k = 19k loan)

3.99% - 18.412/1000 financed = $349.82/mo
4.99% - 18.867/1000 financed = $358.47/mo
5.99% - 19.328/1000 financed = $367.23/mo

It's probably different in your region, but here it's showing:

All 2008/2009 Acura Model Graduate Special AHFC A.P.R. Financing
4.99% APR for 24-60 months or 5.49% APR for 61-72 months

if your downpaying $15,000 on a $32,000 TSX...

your financing $17,000
and @ 4.99% / 60mo... you'll be paying $320.74/mo

Auots.yahoo.com has payment calculator, you can put down price/tax%/apr and downpayment to see your monthly.
