What other cars have you owned, and what’s been your favorite?
What other cars have you owned? Also, which one did/do you like the most?
After six months and 10,000 miles later, my current 2010 base TSX is definitely my favorite.
Cars I've owned:
1990 Honda Accord
1993 Ford Explorer
1997 Honda Accord (MT)
2003 Audi A4 Quattro (MT)
2007 Mercury Milan Premier V6 AWD (now my wife's)
2010 Acura TSX Base (my current ride)
I realized how eclectic my preference in cars have been, but, the TSX is my third Honda-branded vehicle.

I have loved all of my past cars, for different reasons, but after 3 months with my TSX it is my favorite. Hands down. It may be do to maturing, but the TSX is the first vehicle I have owned that I did not feel the need to run out and start "souping up".
Cars I've owned:
1991 Toyota Corolla
1994 Honda Accord (MT)
2002 Acura RSX (MT)
2009 Acura TSX Tech

I've owned:
95 Acura Integra
98 Honda Accord Couple EXV6
04 Acura TL
10 Acura TSX
My Favorite car by-far was my TL. I loved that car. If I hadn't totaled in last June, I'd still have it. I like the TSX, but miss the horsepower.

1986 Pontiac Grand Am 3 speed auto

2010 Acura TSX Tech 6-speed.
**** = Favorite car
The TSX is great but it’s not the same animal as the Type R was. J Also the 93 Accord is my second favorite, drove that thing for YEARS ran great and put 364,000 miles on it and still sold it for $900.00. Maybe the TSX will take the Accords place for 2nd but there are years and miles to come for it to prove itself. J Also interesting to note that the first 5 cars were within the first 5 years of getting my license they all broke so fast. Then the Accord came and I had that car for the next 11 years. Had I just had a honda from the beginning the list would have been much shorter.

1) I started off liking Chevrolets before Honda got a firm grip on my nads.
2) I liked V8's, then I liked 4's, and now I like V6's
Favorite Rides:
I even have a hard time admitting this to myself but, I absolutely loved that '84 Prelude. It was so light and tossable and the engine was as smooth as soft-serve.

For achieving its design goals, reliability, and value, the Mazda 5 is by far the best vehicle I've owned. For a family truckster in an urban environment, it is simply unmatched. But it's a minivan, so no way is it my favorite.
That would be the Saab. It had an unusual blend of performance, luxury, practicality and economy that very few cars could match, then or now. The current Audi A4 is probably closest. It was a blast to drive, with great steering feel and incredible mid-range thrust from the turbo that could leave just about anything behind on the highway. But chug along at 70 mph, and you'd get around 32 mpg. Just amazing. It was let down by poor reliability around the 50k mark that required some tows, but from 55k-135k was largely trouble free.
The TSX would be second. It's better than the Saab in most important respects, especially chassis dynamics and ride/handling balance. But of course it's a more modern design, and should be better. If the TSX had more tactile steering like a Saab or BMW 3 Series (or even Mazda 6) for a truly "locked in" feel, it would probably be my favorite. As it stands, I just can't connect with it like I could with the Saab. I'm hoping better tires will help when it's time to change.

The Q45 was my favorite car. Super smooth ride, looked brand new inside and out after 10 years, and never had to take it in for anything but oil changes.
The RL was a nightmare. Imagine getting in your car everyday and wondering what noise or warning light would appear. If it had been as reliable as the Q45 it would have easily been my favorite.
Got the TSX because I missed having a car that was "fun to drive" and it was an opportunity to get rid of the RL without taking a hit on it.

Great fun game
My car history...
1982 Chevy Citation SS (with V-6!!) - bought 3-year used; power steering only worked when making right turns; engine blew up 2 years later.
1985 Ford Escort - Burned 1 Costco case of motor oil per month.
1990 Nissan Sentra - no A/C, no stereo, manual window crank, stick shift - but it was the first smooth, flawless thing I've ever driven. Dad then used as commuter for 17 years until totaled - sentimental favorite from college days.
1993 Mazda Protege - no A/C, manual window crank, stick shift, luxurious FM stereo with cassette! Discovered what a "zippy" car meant.
1998 Acura Integra LS - First time awed by roaring 140 hp, automatic windows. Still driving occasionally at 186K miles. Still loving the handling even with ancient stock suspensions.
2003 Honda CRV AWD - Wife's car, love the utility. Becoming permanent Honda fan.
2010 Acura TSX - Lap of luxury.
Being from a family without much money, and even though I could easily afford a much pricier car now, coming from my car history I'm extremely happy with what I have, and its enough.

1989 Honda Accord LX
1990 Honda Accord LX
1995 Cheverolet Monte Carlo
2003 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab Prerunner
2010 Mazda CX-7
2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon
The 89 Accord was a lemon, issues with the AC going out numerous times, but luckily my sistem took that car up with her to Colorado for School, so I got the 90 Accord from my brother, which ran decently through college. My Ex GF took a turn too tightly in the parking garage with it, and fk'd up the driver side back door (couldn't open it). I didn't have money to fix it and it couldn't pass safety check, so we donated it... Got my mom's old Monte Carlo which lasted all of 3 months before the oil pump blew and something punched a hole in the radiator causing the engine to over heat and me being maybe 1/2 a mile from the mechanic continued driving... diagnosis from mechanic, not worth fixing... didn't really like that car anyway...
bought my truck in 03 (first car I bought outright by myself). loved that truck... first decently powered RWD vehicle I ever drove, so I had a bit of fun especially when the roads got a little wet and slick... Gas mileage on the truck was horrible... averaging about 16-18mpg.. was a great hauler and great with the two dogs, but getting between 250-280 miles per fill up sucked... Traded it in for my 2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon
2010 CX-7 is a great car, we paid a bit more than we should have, but it still is a great car. We looked at an RDX but couldn't get passed the buck toothed beak. it was also a little smaller than the CX-7. The CX-7 is fun to drive, handles pretty decently for a cross-over, has quite a bit of punch (240hp, 258lb-ft). A bit of turbo lag, but no complaints once the turbo kicks in.
2011 Acura TSX sports wagon, love this car. First fun, car I've ever had (fun yet practical). My truck was fun, but for different reasons, and it pitched and rolled like a mofo... My wagon feels quite a bit lighter, and quicker, steering is a lot more direct, and it has decent power. it also quenches the geeky side of me with the tech package goodies. Its fun, and gets good mileage, been averaging ~26mpg... a 10mpg improvement over my truck... I do miss the extra load capacity of my truck, but was surprised when I was able to load a 4 burner gas grill (in-box, ~27"wx32"dx27"h) into the back of my TSX Wagon.

I've had a wide range of vehicles, and usually stuck with Mazdas. This time around, I couldn't find anything to appeal to me in their line-up, and also wanted something sporty but also more upscale.
I originally wanted an A4, but the problems and cost of ownership of my Jetta 1.8T, as well as VW's customer service, shyed me away from that. I'm happy with my choice so far, and just maybe my car will hold a little value this time around.

Finally joined Acurazine tonight after reading the posts for over a year. I have about 9200 miles on my 2010 TSX with Tech and absolutely love it. I researched this car for a year, salivating and saving during a deployment to Afghanistan in 2010. Came home on a Thursday and bought the car on Monday.
Other cars I've owned:
1985 Subaru GL
1984 Honda Accord
1993 Nissan Altima
1998 Toyota Camry
1997 Infiniti QX4
2003 Honda Pilot
2005 Honda Odyssey - still own
2010 Acura TSX
Had the QX4 for about 8 years and love it, but overall I would say the TSX is my favorite.

Second, if anyone wants to call you a spoiled brat then they can call me the same. Honestly? No one should care. I say, if you have the means...
I just simply don't mod like I used to. I have several other hobbies I put a ton of money in. One of them being my home stereo. NOS 300B tubes can cost an arm and a leg to get but so worth it. But I digress.

Was starting to think I was the only one on this forum in Virginia! You an HM? Airdale? You said you've been to Afghanistan so that's my best guess. Where you stationed at? Anywho... welcome!
