VSA On vs. VSA off

VSA On vs. VSA off
I recently decided to turn off my VSA off but when I pressed the button I was expecting to see an alert light icon come up on the dash that would indicate VSA is not on, but it did not? I could def feel the rev's were much higher vs. when I turned it back on. Is this normal for no icon to appear?

Isn't VSA just stability control? Why would that make your revs much higher? Unless of course, you were breaking traction. And why would you turn it off when parking?

what? and to turn VSA off you need to hold it for a bit and then you will see the indicator light turn on.

Don't want to hijack the thread, but I noticed the other day that when I put the shifter in Sport mode, I don't see any indicator on the dash other than the "S" on the shift indicator. Is there supposed to be a warning light or something, because I can definitely tell that the car make at least 1.21 giggawatts more power when I put it in Sport.

Three Wheelin'
Here's a quick explanation:
From Acura website:
The Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) system continually monitors vehicle speed, throttle position, individual wheel speeds, steering angle, lateral G-force, and yaw rate to detect oversteer or understeer.
In some circumstances, it's OK to switch off the VSA.
For example, climbing a shallow gradient in snow. If the wheels might spin, the power would be cut making progress up the hill difficult.

- When necessary, VSA automatically reduces the engine’s torque and uses the ABS system to apply brakes to each wheel as needed to help stabilize the vehicle.
- The response is so quick that the instability may be corrected before the driver even knows it’s occurring.

To take complete control of the transmission, put the gear selector into "S" and click either the + or - paddle. You'll see M1/2/3/etc in the small box in the tach readout. This allows you to shift whenever you want -- you can bounce the car off redline in first gear if you want to, the cars not stopping you. It does prevent money shifts, however.

VSA - Acuras explanation
As a new Acura owner (2012 SH-awd TL) I'm finding little things that piss me off about this manufacturer. One of them being the VSA...I can not turn it off and the explanation the dealer provided was "without TPMS the VSA will always stay on". I have winters on alloys and cheaped out on the TPMS, so that light is constantly on.
Why in the world would this matter??? If I'm heading towards a snowbank I want the wheels turning as fast as they can to hopefully carry me through.
If you're going to give me a button...make it function!
Does anyone know of a "code" that will override the association between the VSA and the TPMS?

Like canuckshawd said, If you do not have TPMS sensors you will not be able to turn off the VSA.
That's why I gott'em on my winters so if I am ever stuck I can turn off the VSA. I do not believe the fuse yank works from what I remember reading.
