V6 Gas Hood Opener Shocks
Any V6 owners willing to take pictures of how the gas shocks are mounted to the hood and chassis? I'm wondering what it will take to mount gas opener shocks to the 4 cyl. This might be over the top but if you guys can, please pop off the plastic shrouding that surrounds the lower mount so we can see how the shocks are mounted to the chassis

Yeah, hopefully they used an existing hole on the fender and not made a new stamping.

As far as I can tell the bottom part of the shocks are bolted on to a plastic box-like thing and not directly onto the chasis itself. http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/363/0826092146.th.jpg http://img355.imageshack.us/img355/6...6092148.th.jpg http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/6...6092148.th.jpg http://img378.imageshack.us/img378/2...092148a.th.jpg http://img393.imageshack.us/img393/4...092148b.th.jpg http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/4...6092149.th.jpg |
hmmm, interesting. I'll have to do some spelunking on my TSX when I get home. I found the part numbers for the shocks in the Honda/Acura eStore. Almost $140 for the pair.

It can always be worse, they're like $100 list each for the hatch on a 350Z. :ugh: |
I purchased a pair for my 05 Tacoma and work just fine. So here is an alternative to factory. BTW this is the link for the 1st. gen. TSX: http://www.redlinetuning.com/QL-ACURA_TSX.html
