Holy crap crap crap...defcon, didn't you buy these? Or did you buy the type 1? I think kowloon bought the type 2 and they hyperblinked for a bit then stopped...can anyone else verify that it won't hyperblink??

you guys can finally get these lol. i might order a pair just in case mine ever burn out.

mrstak, they hyperblinked initially for about 30 seconds and then became normal for me. i can't guarantee you it will be normal since a few members said that they had an ongoing issue with hyperblinking.

It's a chance I'll take! If it does end up hyperblinking forever, I'll just ask my friend to help me add a resistor. Now...do I do the 5k or 6k bulb...decisions!!!

I thought you got Type 2? How much did you end up paying for yours? I thought it was around 70?

If I get the 6k one, I'm probably gonna have to change my HID bulbs...I guess I'll see if I like the differences in color first...cross that bridge when I get to it.

They're still selling Type 1...

I got the Type 1 according to my invoice. It costs $54.99 a year ago when I got it.

I guess they stopped making the type 1, or renamed the type 1 to type 2 and discontinued the original type 2 which when you put the turn signal on, it would alternate between amber and white when blinking. I guess not that many people bought it.

What I'm trying to find out is the difference between their 92 and 60.

I think only difference is the number of SMDs on the bulb. Kowloon, how many SMDs are on your bulbs? Do you remember? If the 60 is bright enough, I may just go get the 60 one instead.

Yea it seems like the Type 1 is the one that alternates between amber and white when signal is active and Type 2 is the one that's steady amber when signal is on and back to white when it's off.

really!? the only reason im buying the 92 smd is that they arnt bright during the day at all. but during the night its nice.

and mstak! they only hyperflash without the resistor on 2011 models i believe. the 2009s fix by themselves. just leave it on for a bit.

oh and if you pay with paypal, its not working right now. THATS why i've been getting stuck at the PLACE ORDER BUTTON FOR A DAY! so use the credit or debit card directly.

i still have my 60 smd type 2. i was going to return them but if anyone is interested....

if you wait for a bit. ill make a side by side video of the difference. ill install the 60 and the 92 and you can see the difference yourself.

mmm interesting. yeah i had videos posted of mine when i first installed mine and they were bright imo. but can't beat a side by side comparison. I'll probably get the 92 since it's the same price.

Can someone clarify this for me? I thought that to be "legal" in one sense of the term or another, the marker lights had to be amber, all the time. Not just during turning. At least that is what I gathered from the Ohio and Virginia vehicle code. In that regard, I just don't get the idea of switchbacks. I thought everyone wanted to clear their lights to be "clear". Not to obtain a white marker light. Maybe I'm wrong. Anyone?

in cali. the signal color must be between white and amber. clearing looks great and thats why most peeps do it. but after you do it...the stock bulbs look like shit. and if you're going to get bright led ones, why not get best of both world.
the white parking light gives the car a very classy look
and the amber is for driving purposes.
you could get all amber or even all white and not switchbacks but its just up to you.

Aww man! Now you got me waiting for that vid...hahah thanks a lot for offering to make a side by side comparison of the bulbs...Can you do it during the day time so we can get an idea of how bright it is during the day as well? Now that I think about it though, I don't think I'll ever be turning on my parking lights during the daytime anyway...except if its raining or cloudy so...maybe day time brightness doesn't really matter? Gah I'll wait though...itching to buy so then I can finally stop delaying the clearing of my headlights...Thanks!!!

I thought the TSX bulbs were the 7528. So I'm guessing the 1157 switchbacks fit? Can someone confirm please

Great. I just bought the 48's from autolumination . Unlike the Vleds bulb, these are white. The ones from Vleds have a blue tint, in which will match my 8k hids. I'm going to order the Vleds, and give my girl my 48's from my type-s now that I know it's the same bulb number.

Are the 60 really bright? Can u post up some pix.

I'm tempted, so they wont hyperblink or what not / no error message?

I'm assuming simple install too?

I got resistors with mine since they will more than likely hyperblink, as it seems with everyone who's gotten them. Should be plug and play aside from the resistors.

Depends on what year car you have. Apparently 2009 ecu's adjust, but 2011's don't and require resistors.

Neil, I'm just gonna order the switchbacks today or tomorrow...like I said before, parking lights will only be on when I turn on headlights and I don't turn them on during the day so the visible-ness of the bulbs in daytime isn't an issue to me...would still like to see the comparison video if you can get it up before I order.

These are technically illegal. California does not have an exemption or a "different" requirement as the requirements are set forth in Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Specification (FMVSS) 108 (lighting)

The only authority the states have is in deciding to enforce the FMVSS. They cannot change the requirements and a decision not to enforce some requirements may lead to a loss of Federal funding for transportation projects.

That said, it really depends on your local enforcement. PA was always a strict enforcer of side marker lights wheras other locations don't bother to check.

Accordingly, your ability to run these illegal lights really depend on your location and your ability to accept risk.

Technically, this is operating an unsafe vehicle and your car could get impounded in addition to a ticket - although I've not heard of that for sidemarkers. I have seen cars impounded for 6000k+ headlights though.

i believe as long as it signals amber or yellow then u're fine. bc the new chevy volt has white parking lights and i believe a separate bulb for the signals.

SO! i just got my 90smd's in and i installed one. they work awesome. number one thing i quickly recognized is that the 60smd left a purple tint in the headlight which pissed me off bc it didnt match my 6000k at all. NOW my 92smd is pure xenon white with a blue tint. PERFECT MATCHING and so worth it. ill post pictures and my video later on tonight.

Sidemarker lights must be amber in front and read in the rear and must illuminate steadily with the headlights.
