TSX V6, fastest Acura ever?

So my friend bought a tsx V6 after a whole year of research and test drives. he is very happy and i finally got my chance to drive it last weekend. i must say this car is very fast. in fact its faster than the courtesy TL SH-AWD i had couple years ago.

To test this we used iPhone 4's dynolicious app (all calibrated and everything) to calculate power. We went far out into a deserted country road and took it to the limit. We hit 60mph in 5.8 seconds, 1/4 mi in 14.5s and top speed of 120mph in 24 seconds flat!! we tested this couple times and the numbers were pretty much the same on all tests.

now i don't remember the sh-awd number exactly but i think it was about ~26s to 120mph but a bit quicker to 60 and 1/4 mi. My 3.2 TL takes 33s to hit 120mph! I really think this is the fastest Acura? isn't it?

The NSX is the fastest Acura but for Acura sedans, the TL is faster.

Well, dont they do like low 13's in the quarter mile stock? I mean..of course if you mod an RSX or something you can make it really fast but stock for stock isnt it the fastest?

i don't mean just for 1/4 mile because it does seem TL is indeed faster there but taking it to the limit 120mph+ or 1 mile run. no matter we may get a 08 TL-S for testing soon if the owner lets us.

Take someone with you, or you can mount the phone on something.

nope, 120 is plenty fast for my taste.
the TL wasnt made for teh high speeds, it gets pretty unstable quick.

I have taken my dads '10 chally srt past 140.....She's stable and calm!

Sports Car International tested the '91 NSX with the 270 hp motor for 0 - 60 mph. They did it in 5.03 seconds and 13.47 in the 1/4 mile.

I know for a fact that a stock Zanardi Edition will do it in 13.2 or better.

The v6 tsx was stable in highspeed but this could be a false feel due to its numb steering. I did feel as though through suspension feedback that the rear was a bit losing it. i wouldn't recommend driving it at 150. not that you can anyway because its limited to 131mph. The 08 TL-S is limited to 150. With a 6MT im pretty sure a v6 tsx can keep up with a tl-s.

tsxronald, i lolled at your sig. mainly because of the unintentional double entendre. "big update soon" is followed my mention of killer's gf "working alot with small objects"

killer are you having something performed on you to enlarge your object aka a "big" update?

I think 2010/11 Acura TL SH-AWD (manual) with a 0-60 mph of 5.2 and Quarter mile @ 13.7 wins the contest.

well if youre going to race, make sure the other person knows that youre both racing against each other

otherwise youll win 100% of the time regardless if you have the fastest acura or not

double

hehe ofc he knew we're racing he is my friend. yesterday we were both wondering which is fastest tsx v6 or tl? however we realised we could not race because we only had 1 iphone with dynolicious so we had to test each car separately (no race)

from full stop, here are the results:

Acura TSX V6 (1000 on the odo)
0-60: 6.25s
1/4 mi: 14.6s @ 97mph
0-120: 22.1s

'12 Acura TL SH-AWD (3000 on the odo) 6AT
0-60: 5.92s
1/4 mi:14.1s @ 100mph
0-120: 22.7s

its very easy to launch the awd tl off the line at 2500rpm. no wheelspin. it beats the tsx in 0-60 and 1/4 mi but it falls short at higher speeds. The tsx had lots of wheelspin on launch with vsa intrusion. without vsa the times were worst on the tsx. we did the tests twice for each car. both times results were the same and the tsx best tl in 0-120. i think the results make sense considering the sh-awd weighs 4000lbs, over 300lbs heavier than the tsx. i thought maybe the 6 speed auto might give the TL the edge. oh and the tsx times improved over yesterday's, i guess its broken in now xD

i said tl is fastest in 0-60 and 1/4 mile, tsx reaches 120 sooner. so faster 0-120 for the tsx.

^that would be a null point.

0-60 the tl won.
then the quarter - the tl won.

the tsx reached 120 .six seconds faster.

wow!
that would mean they would be neck and neck. at 120.

basically both cars are the same.

yep but I bet most ppl here expect the 305 hp awd 6at to destroy a 5 speed 280hp tsx. I bet if you go to 150 the tl will be behind by 2 second and that's a lot. btw 0.6 second is a lot of gap at 120.

Damn the speed limiters on cars in the US... If the speedo says 160mph, I want to try to see it. Of course on shoes that can handle that speed.
