TSX Spoiler Deck Lid

TSX Spoiler Deck Lid
Just bought an OEM deck lid for my TSX. I was planning on doing the no drill method and have read the DIY on the forum. I still had a few questions for those that installed it without the drill method.
1) Is the spring install really necessary? I'd prefer to stay away from paying the dealership to install the spring. As long as the trunk stays open when i put it up, I'll be happy. Any comments on this would be helpful.
2) Did you guys add additional adhesive tape and adhesive glue to the spoiler as the DIY suggests or is the tape strong enough to hold it? Suggestions on the brand of adhesive tape and glue?
3) Finally, how has the lid been holding up since your install?
Thanks for the help in advance!

hey, you dont need springs, the trunk stays open without a issue, since it is only a lip. also 3m adhesive tape works perfectly with no issues....
I also tried messaging you but it says your messages are full you need to delete messages so i can send you one...
i didn't receive payment yet, did you send it as gift to haseebrahman7@yahoo.com via paypal?

Spring is not necessary. The lip does add weight to the trunk but not so much that its noticeably odd or anything.
Drilling is not necessary either. The supplied 3M tape has held for me for several years so far. Completely happy with mine.
