Totalled my 2010 cbp with tech. Hard choice for the replacement!!!

No pics if the wreck because all it looks like is a missing front bumper. But there was a lot of damage underneath the car. So any ways on to my pointless thread to ask the internet to help me make my personal deciosion, lol. So my WET DREAM color tsx is VBP and came across a 2010 base. only 2 1/2 hours away. But I can get a great deal on a 2011 graphite luster V6!!! That's here local. Soooo hard to choose! And to throw this out there im passing on an amazing deal on a 2010 TL, call me crazy but I like our TSX!!!

So anyways
My wet dream color 2010 26k miles VBP $22k Out the door

2011 Graphite Luster V6!! 19k miles $23500 out the door price

I'd take the V6. Lower mileage and 1 year newer as well. BUT VBP looks so sexy.. especially with black accents.

I would at least get a 2011+ tsx with tech... since you had a previous tech model.

Yeah this VBP is ALMOST my "Elanor" lol I say almost since it isn't 6mt with tech!

FWIW I'd get the V6 for two reasons.

1. The Newer TSX with the V6 will have a higher resale value toe to toe with the 2010 base.

2. The V6 is actually pretty quick, it pairs well with the CU2 chassis.

If you want to pick purely based on emotion, which is how most enthusiasts buy cars, then get the one you know you want.

Good luck with the search, and if you have not already take a look here before you pull the trigger.

I was able to find my car through them, I wanted the lowest mileage used 2011(last year of MT with tech) 6speed tech out there. Found one with 1,900 miles. Still had the plastic on the door sills and still does today.

I will be honest, not having the tech package sucks. I bought an aftermarket GPS/reverse camera but am having a hard time getting everything on it to work.

The V6 sure does bring a smile to my face every time I floor it though

Go with your dream, but the V6 is hard not to choose. Personally I'd get the V6

Have you test driven the V6? It looks pretty sweet and the price seems pretty good out the door. Nice colour but not your colour of choice, lower mileage and a year newer and obviously closer to home. Hard choice I guess. Good luck on your decision.

Thank you for all the VALUED input! Yes it's a very tough decision! Tech would be great, but it isn't a huge deal for me. Don't get me wrong GLM looks great as well, but damn I love VBP!!! But really I think I'm leaning towards the GLM v6 though. 1) rare V6 + moar power. 2) newer & less miles. 3) it's local, save plenty of driving. Dealer on the VBP promises no scratches or dents, but you just never know till you get there. 4) and mainly, I'm putting all the leg work in on the VBP deal. The dealer is acting like he gives a flying fuck about it. So I think that's that, I'll keep y'all posted!

I think the newer one is worth it. I only like VBP when people do mods to it. Stock it looks kind of ugly IMO. Also the leather in that one looks like it has stained spots or something, maybe it needs a good cleaning, but at least you can see how the previous owner cared for it from little things like that. Personally if I had to drive 2+ hours to see a car it better be looking damn near perfect in the pictures or be super rare to be worth the drive.

Yeah I noticed that also, but I think it's just from the dealership cleaning and conditioning it. Or I at least I hope.. And yeah I have been burned in the past by a dealer promising a great car, that turned out to be shit!

Go test drive the V6. The color thing will disappear with the push of the accelerator. Get up to another car at 60MPH & make a past like a bat outta hell............ and wont need the paddle shifters like the 4 banger to feel the rush!!!!

i can tell you that i have the 4 cyl, but the amount of times i've been complimented on the colour is insane. and plenty of times its been said "whats this? v6?" most are shocked its just a 4 banger. it sure as hell isn't the fastest thing in the world, but its not a prius, and 200hp will still go

I bet it does!!

Dave you're killing me with the pics!!

Well I did make the drive to go check out the VBP... But of course it was not perfect condition. It wansn't horrible, but way to many flaws for me to accept. It was so hard to pass it up!! The GLM is so damn tempting though! But at this I think I'm going to hold out for a VBP.

Sorry to hear that, I know the process and it sucks. I bought mine yesterday and after a LONG wait, but it paid off IMO. If you're set on VBP, it will come around I promise.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Yes! I am considering it, and called on it earlier lol. Wish I would have seen it sooner though, I could of had it transferred to KC for free. I would have planned to have it there, so I could of looked at both in the same day. 249 transfer to wichita isn't that bad tho, but still...

Well here's my update. I decided to hold off on getting another tsx, and maybe wait to see what the TLX will really be like. I figure when they come out, there will be more Tsx's on the market from trade ins and maybe find the exact one I want! Or MAYYYYBE, if I like the TLX enough, maybe wait a year or so and grab one of those. So for now I found a pretty decent deal on an 02 accord ex sedan. Hey at least it's still Honda right! And btw it's the 5mt, so no worries about the crappy auto trans they put in those. Ugh I'm gonna miss rollin in the acura, but no more car payments for awhile and cheaper insurance is a nice thing also!!! I'll still be somewhat active on here though, being jealous of every ones cars lol! But thanks for all the advice and input you all have given!

Vbp's are basically mythical around here... Any of the blues of that type for acura/Honda are extremely rare in my area. Shit back in the day when I had a 99 ebp si, I was one of a only a few ppl to have one and I had it shipped here from Alabama! I did make that 3 hour drive to check out the tsx. Car had scratches, chips, & touch up paint all over it, front passenger fender had a dent & paint was flaking off of it. I was pissed, because the dealer promised it was in great condition... I thought about carmax, but I don't wanna chance paying for the transfer fee and the car end up having bad scratches and what not. So maybe if one comes up local, I might get pretty tempted or if one is close enough for carmax to transfer without a fee.

Yeah I understand, it's all a waiting game. I think you're right in the sense that when the TLX comes out, a lot of people that own Acuras and have the cash are going to go for it, so there should be an influx of trade ins which should help your cause.

But yeah man sounds like you got something for now that will get you from point A to B, which really is all that matters. You're a little lucky now considering you have more options if you keep waiting. You can either go for a TLX if you really want or will possibly have a nicer selection to choose from closer to that time.

Yeah I've mostly always "settled" for what's around. So I figured if I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it right this time. The tlx wouldn't be an option for me for a few years and idk if I'd be able to wait that long lol. But if no tsx comes up then who knows. I just hope to return to an acura soon!!
