Tech Package Worth It?
Just wondering if people think the tech package is worth the extra 3100$ The only thing that I really would want out of it is the 415W sound system with more speakers. Anyone know how much better this sound system is than the standard? The Navigation system is nice but I already have a Tom Tom.
Thanks guys

For the sound system alone it is worth it.
Of course I have nearly 100 DVD-Audio and DTS sorround titles. It sounds great with XM or a plain or CD as well. The best stock system I have ever heard.
With the tech package you also have 5 ways to play compressed audio files. That is completely nuts. They are ipod (songs and folders show up on navi screen), usb port for flash drive or card reader, aux port for head phone jack for older ipod, cd with mp3, and a few bluetooth phones will play music through the bluetooth link.
Realtime traffic if you live a large metro area (or travel through one), realtime weather, and Honda/Acura have the best stock Navi's out there. I will miss the touch screen however.
So if this stuff is important to you it is worth it. If not.

Yes, I think so. Especially since I didn't get navi in my 04 and now I wish I had. The sound system is supposed to be amazing, too.
Right now, I'm just trying my best to resist the temptation to trade my 04. I just keep reminding myself that I'm enjoying time with no car payment.

Why is it the governments fault?
Was it their fault we were paying less for cars up here when out dollar was 60-65 cents?

I think that it's definitely worth it. Even compared to any other car in it's class it's still a value leader and the tech package brings a significant amount of technology. The competition would be closer to 40K with similar options and amenities.

I would definitely say it's worth it. Just like others said (and I'm sure it is), the radio is great....and you are already chucking up that much money for the car, you might as well put in just a little bit more and enjoy it ALOT more.

True but you get a lot better of a sound system at a car stereo place for 3,200$

In the end, only you can decide if it's worth it to you. We can no more make this value judgment for you than we could pick the best color for you.

im feelin mine. the voice recognition is still kind of a gee whiz thing to me, and not sure yet if im going to end up using it, but im appreciating the upgrade from my civic. and yes, the sound system is awesome.

Let me help you!
I don't know if the stereo upgrade will be worth it. They bragged about the 1st gen TSX's stereo system, but we all know how bad it is (distortion at higher volumes), etc. Maybe if they come with better speakers.
The navi, if it's similar to the 1st gen navi, will be more feature-rich than your Tom Tom.
The tech package comes with a rear view camera...that'd be the feature I'd be most interested in

For a true test put all of sound levels on flat and don't forget to turn off the speed sensitive volume. I forget what the actual name for this feature.
On my test someone had that feature on, bass, mid, treble all cranked and center channel boosted as well before I fixed everything.
Might as well go back to 8-track if you are going to do that.

Perforated leather-trimmed interior
