someone decided to bump and run :(

drove into DC today to tour the east part of the White House...walked back to my car parked on constitution and i see this:

awesome. the yellow paint left over is still fresh. when i parked, i was in front of only one car, a silver honda civic hybrid. i came out, and there's a grey van behind me, so that couldn't have been it. some big yellow hummer or something probably tried to park behind me and bumped into me at 2-3 mph.

no note. i seriously hate people who disrespect other people's property/cars. it's so cowardly to hit another car and just leave. i believe in karma, so hopefully that scumbag gets his/her just desserts.

the car isn't even 2 months old! 2,500 miles.

oh well. any idea how much it would be to repair? the rear decklid is definitely dented inward, and the paint got messed up on it as well as on the bumper.

yeah i didn't go into dc today for that reason, lol had a bad feeling, but its a collision claim hit and run just file it and pay your deduct its worth it to get the guarantee through your insurance so if wherever you take it they do a bad job fixing it, you can complain untill its done right.. It's been almost a year for one of mine and i'm FINALLY getting it done correctly this week.

cant really tell the damage from a close up photo, but it looks like your trunk has a pretty good size dent on it? you might wanna try calling up a mobile dent repair service. they can fit most dents and touch up the paint chip for like less than $300.
if your deductible is $500, then there is really no point in calling your insurance.

yeah, my deduct (like many people) is $500. i wasn't planning on calling insurance anyway. if they can get a dent like that out and touch up the paint properly for $300, i would be ecstatic. i'll do some looking around, thanks!

Looks like a typical city parking job. A good amount of cars parked on city streets have bumps and scratches on their bumpers, it's a way of life there. Just one reason why I could never live in a city, or at least one without my own parking spot in a garage.
