I had a 4g tl sh awd set of shocks and springs installed today. I was concerned with the spring rates and dampening being totally out of wack from comments on an older thread where I brought up the idea, but on the drive home the car felt very planted, and precise. Traction definitely seems much better and I have much less wheelspin on the front tires. I had megan street coilovers which I know are cheap coils but I think I am either getting older now or getting over the harsher ride over road imperfections and bumps that come with a stiffer suspension.
The oem suspension is not as direct with feedback as the coilovers were but I am happy with the tradeoff. Especially over bumps. This setup is definitely better than the oem setup the car came with. Ride height is about the same as what I had with the coilovers. I had it set to stock height with a wheel gap that people on the forums will probably hate.
Alignment numbers with the tl suspension came in green across the board. Ill try to post some pictures when I have some time this weekend and get the car washed 4x4 gap in full glory.
Anyways I wanted to share my experience with the 4g tl suspension on the 2g tsx v6.
Took some cellphone pictures in the parking garage. Got it washed yesterday.
wheel gap is huge haha, its about a 3 finger gap on each corner. There is a stock tsx that parks on the same floor and I compared the two and stock is a gap of 2 fingers. So the TLSHAWD springs are likely a tad longer to account for the heavier drivetrain. For me its not really much of a big deal since it is my daily driver and the roads here in houston are horrible.
