room for turbo?

When i went to my dealer to chek out the 09 i popped the hood and noticed alot of room at the front of the engine and i was talkn to the sales men and he was saying that all that extra room that was left at the front of the engine will most likely be the turbo which wil probably be added in 2 years wen the hype for the tsx runs out. Dont kno if this has been posted yet, just wondering if anyone noticed it.

The diesel is a turbo for sure, and as I understand it, this is a large engine. The size of the engine bay was determined by the dimensions of the i-DTEC engine

There does appear to be enough room in there for an expanded engine. The turbodiesel will definitely fit, since it fits in the Euro Accord version, and a turbo-I4 would fit too. A V6 might also fit...

I wonder if Acura/Honda would bring so many choices in a single lineup...I mean, a 4, a diesel and a V6?! I know they have such choices in Europe but anyone think they'll push the engine envelop that far here in North America? They are going to do some serious re-printing of their brochure too as there is one engine choice listed in....I wonder if the Diesel (which seems the most likely other option) will be in the 09 or they'll bring out for the 2010 model??

hope they do something soon that brings some attention back to acura. everything they've been doing lately is a bit underwhelming. they need to make something that can really kick some ass on the street. an I-4t would be ther best bet.

Please tell me that was typed with tongue placed firmly in cheek.

If they fail to come out with a V6 because of printing concerns maybe they shouldn't be in the automotive business.

And a diesel is confirmed for the TSX. Since 09's are out and they announced the diesel would be out in 09, I expect it would hit delaers in the summer/fall of 09 as a 2010 model.

dom..I was being sarcastic...thats the problem with online forums, sometimes the flavor of the message doesn't shine through Your timeline on the diesel seem to go in the same time frame as I'd expect....

When I went to check them out, the manager also mentioned there will probably be a turbo version, and that he expected to get some of the diesels in December, but he thought it might be earlier than that. He also said that in the next couple years they are releasing 2 new Acuras that aren't based on any of the previous models

Just so you guys are in the tech-know, a turbo would occupy room at the rear of this engine...which incidentally there is also an acre of room.
