Registration fees? For those who lease

DMV NV is charging me over 500 bucks on registration fees for my 09 tsx which I'm leasing. They're charging on the whole msrp of the car which I think is ridiculous because:

1. I got the car below msrp
2. I'm only paying for 42% of the value of the car

what do you guys think?

How much are you paying on yours?

It depends on state law. I just paid $475 for mine yesterday and I lease.

There are a lot of factors that go into play. What city, county, state you live in, how new the car is, millage (not MILEage) rate, etc.

Visit here for more details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Property_tax

As a means of comparison, my girlfriend has an '08 535i and her tag/ad-valorem tax was $750 this year...

If I would've kept my 2003 Maxima SE, I would've only paid $135 this year.

Worse part is, that Tag renewals, at least in GA, are always on your bday. Happy bday to me...

What can I say, life's a B!tch!

Doesn't matter what others pay... matters what the law says you pay. Law apparently says you pay over $500.

All you can do is ask why.
