This car looks 100x better with any wheels other than the stock ones. How they could have messed that up so badly, I will never know. And this is coming from someone who never had anything against the stock wheels on the 04-05 and 06-08 TSXs.

That red color is kinda funny. In some pics, I like it, in others, I don't. I like it in the pics posted in the above link.

Okay...someone needs to really kick the morons at Honda for sticking us with such shitty wheels. Those really improve the look and stance of the car. Still not enough to compensate for the horridly done wheel arches, but at least it doesn't look like a matchbox toy now.

even with those wheels I don't see the appeal much.

in order to modify this car, to make it look as nice as our modded cars, the new
TSX is going to take lots of work.

A simple lip kit + drop is just not going to do it.

those fog lights don't bother anyone else?

I see folks drilling out those dimples and adding LEDs to them...
but still....

well whatever, we all know I'm not a fan.

YES, that plastic looks about as cheap as you can get and those dimples!?! At least if it was all one texture you could paint it to match the body color!

On a side note, that red color looks AWESOME in these pics!

The red and the two blues are the only colors I haven't seen in person. I going by another dealer at unch. Maybe they will have the red.

Not sure what they have at my local dealer but I received a call from my salesman today saying it was ok to come in and drive one. I will be going after work today or tomorrow.

with this car being wider and the flared fenders i wonder if TL offsets would work, Ronjon needs to get his hands on one for some fitting asap.

I test drove the red one (it is definitely more of a maroon). I love the color.

In case anyone is interested, the new red (maroon) color for the TSX is the same as the color on USDM Honda Accord sedans. Just thought you might want to know so you can check out the color on a car you'll see more often than a new 09 TSX.

Good point. I have doing that with the Polished Metal for weeks now. It is on the 08 Accords as well and the 08 TL.

There still something about seeing a color on the car itself. The PMM looks get on the Accord Coupe and TSX and just OK on the TL and Accord Sedan IMO, for example. Yesterday my wife took the a PMM on a test drive and there were two of them side by side in the dealer's lot. She thought they were different colors just by the slight difference in lighting. It may sound weird, but I could see here point.

Very true, and I would definitely want to see the color on the car itself before purchasing it. However, since the car is so new right now, you have very little chance of seeing the color at all, so at least you can see it on an Accord for the time being. I've seen it a few times and it looked ok, but I think it looks 100x better on the TSX in the above pictures.

None of my local area dealers even have the red on order. I have seen every color now except the red and the Vortex blue. I should get a peak at the blue by the end of the week.

It is down to Vortex blue, black, and polished metal for me. My wife favors the polished metal.

If I were buying, my choices would be vortex blue, crystal black, or basque red, I think. The only colors I've seen in person are the palladium metallic (at the NY auto show), and grigio metallic at the dealer on Saturday. I didn't see even one 09 TSX on the dealer's lot. The one I saw and sat in was in the showroom.

Guys, please spell check a bit more. Some of these posts are kind of hard to decipher due to misspellings and shortcuts. TIA.

I was thinking the same thing. My favorite color is now between basque red and vortex blue pearl. The taupe interior looks super nice, but wow does it look light. I'd be concerned about it looking dirty all the time, and how it would hold up.

It is darker than the Quartz of my 04 and my 04 doesn't show dirt that bad. The parchment interior is slightly darker now, but I still think it is too light.

I have quartz in my 04 as well. I'm confused, though, because in pictures, the taupe looks really light, but in the swatches I've seen, it's more of a quartzy-mauve kind of color. I don't know which to believe, lol. Guess I'll have to see it in person.

Until then, I have seen it in person. It looks like the swatch, i.e. darker than the quartz. A real nice warm color.

*bump*

Does anyone else have more real life photos of the basque red color on the TSX? My local dealer didn't have one in stock and I kinda wanted more photos to gauge whether I should order one or get one transferred. It looks different in every picture.

Sounds like you went to DCH Montclair Acura in Verona, NJ. It's where I got my car. That grigio metallic/ebony one in the showroom sold me on that color after I had planned to get black originally. I'm surprised you saw none on the lot. Their demo driver is a white one with a lip spoiler that's always sitting there and there was a black 6 Speed I almost bought that was still sitting there as of Monday when I picked up my tags. They keep most of their stock in a secondary lot elsewhere. My base grigio/ebony 6 speed had to come from another dealer though.

Thanks for the linky! See, in that one, the car looks a lot more maroon (with purplish undertones) instead of a deep red like it appears in the vtech.net. I'm not a huge fan of the maroon/purplish because it makes the car look cheap...reminds me of the old GM colors in the 80's, but I love a good deep metallic red. Maybe I'll just keep waiting until I see one in person.

I was actually at Bridgewater Acura that day. It's the closest to my house and I just wanted to take a peak at the 09 in person.

I bought a Basque Red Pearl TSX a few weeks ago. When I had my first test drive I saw the red TSX on the lot and I also thought it had a bit of purple in it. I think it really depends on how much sunlight is hitting it and from what angle. Being a pearl color, it really does color-shift.
I ended up buying the red one anyway because I like dark red (my last 2 cars previous to the TSX were also dard red) plus I wanted it to stand out from the crowd (if you can call it a crowd) of everyone else going for one of the shades of gray.
I'll take some shots of my TSX and post them this week. I don't have tinting yet, which I think would look really great on a red TSX.

I got my "Basque Red Pearl " with black (6M Tech) on May 31. The dealer decided to order some for the lot. I like it for several reasons:

1. No questions about if it's Grigio, Polished Metallic, etc. etc.
2. I like the color
3. I'm old. It reminds me of a more subdued (sophisticsted?) "Candy Apple Red" that I would see on the restored "hotrods" in N. Indiana.

Now I want some bigger wheels in a dark to black color. No window tint; hard enough to see as it is!
