Thumbs up Rear Sports Bumper

Is there no love for the rear sports bumper? I've only seen the front bumper on the forums here. I just got my rear bumper installed. This has to be one of the easiest installs for the car, and it makes the car much sportier from the rear.

I also replaced the exhaust tips, I always liked the 1st gen TSX ones, so they are on the car now. My bumper and tips had some damage, and this makes the most sense economically, and I get to retain factory paint..which is important for me. Here it is after the install. I'll post some more pics when I get them.

I love the look of the rear sport bumper! Where did you buy your bumper from and how much? I'm considering doing this too. Some ass hit me during rush hour traffic and ran off a week ago. I notice you have the splash guards, hope it doesnt look too weird with just front splash guards..I know the rear isn't compatible with them.

Excellent, I think the aero bumper looks particularly suited for your car colour.

I love the rear bumper now, and it makes the rear end much more aggressive looking whereas before the stock bumper was pretty plain... The cost should be around 500 bucks, and it's available from any Acura dealer..it ships right from Honda's warehouse. It's the Modulo bumper 100% straight from Japan . It seems pricey at first. but it cost less than getting a stock bumper and paying paint and labor for it....I really should take more pictures. I'll have to wait until it's less hot and also the ashes from brush fires lately isn't helping!

The front splash guards, amazingly, did not look arkward with the rear sports bumper... the only thing I noticed is that it makes the front bumper look plain now..and I'm tempted to get the front one to match!

Wait, is this another type of Aero bumper kit? I thought there was just one. You mentioned you got a Modulo bumper? Is this another option?

No, Modulo is the same one that is available here in North America and Europe + Asia.

However, in Europe and Asia, they have another GT/Type S aero kit: Consist of front lip spoiler, side skirts and rear diffuser.

Nice, man. I just did the exact same thing as you. Pretty simple install, and factory matched paint FTW.

I'm not sure if it makes my butt look big, though. I would love to get the front lip from the Euro Accord to round it out, but don't know where to get it from.

Congratulations, your car looks really nice!

Thanks for the info. Yeah I've seen the euro lip ones, those are pretty interesting.

I really like the Euro front lip and sides, but not feeling the rear. For the rear, I prefer the US sport bumper.

very nice, I'm in the same situation. I had some nice gouges in my bumper when the siding installers backed into my car. I got some quotes and they paid out of pocket for the bumper. Now I'm just shopping around to see what kind of deal I can get. I was worried it would look odd with just the rear bumper but it does add some sportiness. I'll probably get the front bumper in the spring. The Chicago winter was not nice to my front bumper.

I was very surprised at how good it looks after the install, better than I expected. I'm very eager to see how it looks like in other colors thought, should be nice as well! Let's see who is next to pull the trigger!

That's hot. $500 painted from the factory is not bad at all. Ebay has it for $289 shipped but only primed and not painted. Might be worth it if you have a good shop to paint it at.

I was wondering for the regular bumper how it would look if someone just painted the lower lip between the exhaust tips. Any Photoshop gurus around? =D

$289 primed is most likely an aftermarket/knockoff item. Add some cheap paint to that and the paint will be flaking in a few years. Factory paint, and factory painting process, cannot be duplicated in a body shop for cheap.

Which dealer did you get this from? I'm looking for a dealer to buy it from.

I can't recommend my dealer directly because I had a special connection. That being said, there are a lot of online Acura dealers, which will run $500+. Be sure to factor in shipping and taxes..even if you can find a cheap one, since I had to pay almost frigging 10% tax in CA.

It is indeed black on the bottom. I just had mine installed 2 days ago and did the whole kit, it is awesome! Definitely makes it more sportier looking.

i do like/appreciate that about Honda/Acura...parts like these come prepainted and match rather nicely no way you can get something aftermarket and having it painted for that price nor that OEM fit that's so important.
