Ray Laks Acura NY. Are they for real?

I phoned the local Acura dealer in Canada ( Fairview Acura) for some TPMS sensors for a 2009 ACURA TSX. I was quoted $58 plust a couple of dollars for the nut and washer for a total of $61.00 + taxes at 13%.
I phone Ray Laks Acura since we are planning a shopping trip to Buffalo next week and the parts guy tells me the sensors are $93/each. I almost fell off my chair. Are these guys for real?

Any ideas where I can get the OEM sensors made by Pacific for the 2009 ACURA TSX?

I need 4 new sensors to go with the new rims and winter tires. The part no. is 42753-TL2-A51 made by Pacific Sensors. It doesn't cross reference with anything else that Acura makes. This is a new self learning sensor, so in the future when I swap my summer and winter tires I don't have to take the car into the dealer to have the system relearn the new signals.

That's really strange, what's the total difference when you take the exhange rate into account? Or, have you already?

Did you tell the guy Ray Laks you were calling from here? I would ask for Tim Poliniak (assuming he's still with the company.) I've known of him and dealt with him since...97-98? He has always been tops in price & service.

Please let us know what's going on once you cross reference and all that.

Thank you very much, I was checking on ebay several months ago but nothing came up. Again, thank you very very much, I will make an offer.

No I didn't tell the parts guy where I was calling from etc. I didn't feel like getting into the whole price thing over the phone. I've tried using that approach in the past and usually the comment is, "if the price is so good then buy it from the other guy". I was so suprised that the price was twice as much as in Canada. I'll try to get the ones off of ebay first. I'll post to let you know how I make out.

They give special discounts (deep discounts) to Acurazine members. If you call as just Joe off the street, they're going to quote you list price.

If the eBay ones don't work out, definitely call Tim and tell him you're calling from here. They pay advertise on these forums (at least I think they advertise here) and they offer discounts that are better pricing than what a shop pays in most cases.

good to know. Thanks!

I'm kinda surprised about the TPMS pricing cause they seem to have better prices than Canada for just about everything else I checked. I might even make a trip down to Buffalo this weekend if the wifey gives the ok....been eying those cargo hooks
