^ The thing is that it'll be hard for the Equus to compete with the cars it's intending to compete with when "Hyundai" comes before it's name. It's difficult to change a person's long time opinion of a brand, but I'll admit, if one company has done it, it would be hyundai even though people still think it's shit.

i raced my friends IS250 F-Sport on a straight away.
i was winning and what was funny was that he said he was scared by my car sounded beastly with the resonator delete.
(DELETE FTW!)
but after 45-50 his V6 kicked in -______-
we both used our paddle shifters bc we thought it would be fair for both of us.
V4 vs V6...close race thou.

and yea i like the new hyundai gencoupe but yea trying to step up the name of Hyundai is gonna take awhile ahah
and gen coupes you just need to go to autozone and buy a $ 20 spectre cone filter and put that in and it sounds like you have a new intake cause you can really hear the turbo and dont need to waste 180 for the tube as well.

itll be like a whole nother generation before hyundai can shake its bad rap. They can make phenomenal cars, for example the Equus, but the people i know that can afford them wouldnt be caught dead in a hyundai.

i think they're just about to shake it. considering that all the other brands are having reliability issues, hyundai doesn't need to better, just good enough. if the 2.0T sonata was out when i needed to buy a new car, i might be driving that instead of a tsx. you just can't beat the features and specs that car has, at that price point.

FWIW, Hyundai/KIA OE parts supply line leaves A LOT to be desired. It's so bad for certain items that independent companies like Auto7 are bringing in OE stuff from Korea and selling it through the aftermarket with OE branding.
That is in contrast to, say...
GM = OE dealer.....................ACDelco = OE aftermarket
Ford = OE dealer ..................Motorcraft = OE aftermarket
So, add parts availability to the list of reasons I'm not real interested.

Okay this was seriously funny. Also having "encountered" street racers, stop it, its a PIA to dodge a mental patient doing 90 on a back street. Very entertaining when they whip past a cop though. Leave racing to the track.

Oh poor Modesto! I miss having him around. It made sitting at my computer for the majority of the day a lot more fun. I do not however miss reading his post and cringing at the decisions he made for his car. I hope all is well with him and his car.
