Questions about Nokya DRL and Fogs

Hi guys,

New TSX owner here! Sorry, if this has been brought up before. I see a lot of 2G TSX owners here are using Nokya bulbs and I just have a few questions.

From what I read, the fog lights size is H11 and the DRL/Highbeam is 9005 HB3? Do these bulbs need a ballast at all or are simply plug and play?

The DRL/Highbeams I'm interested in is the Artic White Stage 1, 7000k. Do they really come out crystal white or will they come out like all those bulbs that are simply painted blue? The fog lights I'm interested in is the 2500k, are they noticeably more yellow than the stock fogs?

And lastly, would you guys be able to recommend a site to order from, and possibly give me some links on where I can purchase them?

Thanks in advance!

you have the sizes correct.

nokya are Halogen bulbs and are Plug and Play. halogen bulbs do not use any external ballasts.

where to buy.......google is your friend/

Thanks Rob!

Was hoping someone had a good vendor that they'd recommend, but I'll do my google search now.

Nokya yellow fogs are significantly yellower than stock. They look pretty good, IMO, and from having owned 3 sets on 3 other cars, they last long too.

yes 2500k fogs will be noticeable yellower than the stock fogs.

the nokya bulbs will not be crystal white when they're on. they will still retain much of the yellowish light output of the stock bulbs but they will be less "yellow". if you're looking for a pure white output from your DRL's you'll need LEDs for those and in doing so, you lose out on high beam functionality. the nokya arctic whites will make your housing look blue from the front though.

I think i'll just go with the 2500k fogs and leave the DRL's stock. It seems like there is little benefit from the Nokya Arctic White DRL's.

I wouldn't want to switch my DRL's to LED's either since I want to retain the high beam functionality.

Thanks guys!

Thanks again guys. Installed the Nokya 2500k fogs last night and I love the color! The yellow fogs contrast nicely with the stock hids, making it appear more white lol

Also, I noticed the fogs get really hot, is it safe to use lamin-x over the fog lenses?

Don't use Lamin-X. If you want deep yellow fogs, IMO, do it the right way and retro fit some of those yellow capsules. I haven't taken a close look at the fog light housings, but from prior experience, if the housings are workable, it's not a hard mod to do. If not, the Nokyas should be plenty. I guess another challenge would be to actually find those capsules, since the capsule mod was all the rage 6-8 years ago and seems to have died out now.

I have the nokya artic white drl bulbs and they give off a better color light than stock. Its not a pure white at all but it looks way better than the gross stock color. I have the stage 2 ones that are a higher wattage, along with the more beefy harness adapters(like $8 on ebay). Even being the higher wattage the stage 2, high beams arent quite as bright as stock, so thats something also to consider.

Unhappy

I was just a bit worried about rock chips cracking the lens.

I have a set of clear lamin-x being shipped and I'm wondering if I should even put it on now.

i heard that some of the burning is cuz people don't fully allow the film to dry and cure before turning on their fogs. not sure how true that is but i do know other people have lamin-x installed with no issues? but also some people have issues...so i don't know?

if you convert to HID, they could also crack the lenses.
i remember a lot of folks on S2ki.com having issues with Lamin-x covers causing spider cracks in their headlight lenses because of the heat getting trapped or something.

Yea, covers are a no go...they contain the heat...it's like wearing a jacket.

i have nokya yellow drl in all my cars. just don't get the JDM version which pulls extra current and could melt your harness. on my RDX i sometimes run sylvania ultra bulbs which are very bright since i do a lot of cottage country travelling with that. and its also a good bulb to fight glare kings with. i would avoid any blue bulbs no matter the brand, they have no useful light and create extra heat. plus they don't look too white.

Do they say stage 1 or stage 2? Stage 2 needs a heavy duty harness. They are plug and play and like $8 on ebay.
