Quarter panel damage?

Quarter panel damage?
Despite being the most careful driver I know, I curbed an unusually high sidewalk coming out of an alley this week. All of the damage appears to be under the rear passenger door to what I would consider the rocker panel. Rather than make an insurance claim, I'd like to repair it myself. However, from the photos, it looks like it's part and parcel with the quarter panel. If it is part of the quarter panel, then it'd be a bit more costly than I'd like (and probably a bit beyond my repair capability). Can someone more knowledgeable than I confirm that I need an entirely new quarter panel or if I don't, what part I need? If it is part of the quarter panel, I'm thinking about just buying a side skirt and covering it up. Anyone have a suggestion on a side skirt?

That's part of the rocker. Quarter panels usually do not go that low. Besides cutting the damaged part out and installing a new piece, I don't see an easy fix here. Any reputable shop will charge $1,800 to $2,500 to fix that damage.

That's actually part of the quarter panel not rocker panel. Repairs will be around $600. If you could cover it up with a under body spoiler that would work but you need the fix the wheel weld first or it's not going to fit flush.

That's what I'm going to do. I got the kit pictured here off ebay. It didn't come with instructions though. I'm pretty handy, but I have absolutely no idea what the 4 thin metal rivet type parts below the 12 black screws are for. Can someone give me some info on what those are for? In fact, if someone has a write-up or installation instructions for this particular model, I would really appreciate it!
