There's a 2012 TSX auto with Tech for sale in my area (http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/cto/4091690620.html). It's Graphite Luster Metallic, black interior, 7,000 miles, but with body damage. The seller is asking $24,500 as is or $26,000 if he repairs it himself. I am going to look at it tomorrow under the sunlight.

Great buy? Hassle to fix the body damage? I need advise!
Thanks!

we'd need to see how bad the damage is no? without pics or a description of how bad it is, we have no idea if it's worth it. my general assessment at this point would be no it's not worth it.

You have a quarter size body damage at passenger side front fender, quarter size damage on the passenger door, quarter size body damage on the rear passenger side and door (showing metal and a little of rust) I've included a link to the car is my original post.

You cannot touch up GLM like that . Those complete panels need painted.
And they will need to probably do a blend as matching that LUSTer will not be easy.

for that price , you can get a clean title one with a little higher mileage. And the piece of mind the car hasn't gone through anything. When a car is in an accident, it is never the same again. Rather get a clean car for a little more.

Car has clean title, great condition except for the damages. Owner need to sell this car and his g35 to get the brand new q50. You got a point there honagtanle, I think it's going to be headache going to fix it and not being as close to OEM.

Looking at the damage there isn't anything that would affect the title or cause anything that would make it "never the same."

This looks like paint damage but it will negatively affect resale.

$24k properly repaired might be reasonable. Clean CPOs with 6-10k miles are going for $28k from dealers on the mainland.

i guess IMO, if you're spending that money, you might as well spend a little more to have piece of mind and if you get from dealers, you'll have the Certified pre owned warranty on it also. but to know that car went through all that. it's a tough pill to swallow especially spend that much.

Through all what? Am I missing something? It looks like the side of the car got scraped - perhaps on the side of a garage?

OP...
I purchased my '12 TSX w/tech package, CPO from the dealer, first owner, 7.5k miles for $28.5k. I agree with 'hoangtanle', for the little extra money you can get a better value. Just remember, if you plan to resell it your vehicle is devalued by $3k to $5k because of the accident regardless who did the repair. You'll always get what you paid for. Best of luck.

Thanks all who gave me not just advice but a piece of mind. I've decided to pass this deal. Hopefully one will come my way soon! Thanks again.

^_^ You haven't lost anything...TSX will still be produced in '14 so you can always get a '13, if you wanted a year old.
