Plastidip the TSX?!

so im planning to plasti dip the chrome parts on the tsx and also maybe the stock oem rims.

i was wondering how long the process for each coat would be? and how much coats would you need on parts like the grille? and what sort of prep work did you guys do before plasti diping it?

thanks!

I suppose this is a good question (and I have no idea what the answer is), but I must confess that the first thought that came to mind was "wow..... this is a guy with waaaay too much time on his hands".

^ lol, I'm thinking you just need to let it dry. I'm going to be doing this in the spring once the weather is nicer. To the OP, if you plan on doing your entire car, it's probably going to take you all day, and maybe even more than one day. I've read that anywhere between 3-5 coats is acceptable.

Well, I already plasti-dipped one side of my window trim, door handles and rims. I used about 1.5 cans on the two rims. 4 coats. 30 mins in between coats. The initial coat was a lot more to the point where it looks wet. Prep work is basically cleaning the rims which was easy for me since I have less spokes (one reason I love my rims).

For the door handle trim and window trim you can look at my thread about it
