painful front seats
Newbie from NorthEast say "hello" to all!
To my frustration, I'm not talking about the comfy of the seat but about the entire different issue that I searched around on the net and seems never ever surface anywhere.
Anyway, as we all know, the TSX incorporate the heated front seats but no AC seats. WHY NOT?
I have the Grigio/Eboby, mostly park it outside, it's summer time now, it's hot, very hot and especially in the past few weeks when temperature hit 90 to 100 degrees, it's toasted.
I always start the car and leave cold AC on for 5' before hop in. The problem is AC blows cold air into my face and my hands (good) but my bu++ and my back are still so hot, making the trip home (only 20') very uncomfortable.
I don't know any other has the same issue as mine.
What do you guys say?
And any recommendation? Very appreciate.
Note: the another reason why I bring up the AC front seats is the 2006 Lexus ES350 of my friend does has AC settings (for driver and passenger, separately). I do believe Lexus calls it as "temperature control front seats"
Why Lexus 2006 has this feature while Acura doesn't
Was the RL, TL, ZDX has it?
Thanks all.

yeah, i wear long pants and long sleeves 5 out of 7 days in the week, so I don't complain as much. However i can still feel the warmth through the fabric. I know in regards to cooling the car down seats included, i open all my windows and sun roof on the walk up to the car, get in turn it on let the ac start to blow a little cool. close the sunroof and the front windows and when the ac starts really cranking i close the rear windows to a crack and when it starts to cool down i close them completely. usually takes about 2 or 3 minutes then the cabin really starts to cool down.
As for the seats? Aim your ac vents at your seat or something. one at the seat one in the air to trap the warm air in the middle. I think cooled seats aren't on too may entry level cars. Have to remember luxury is an american hoax because we will spend more money on them. If you were in europe and got a 30,000 honda it would have the same options as ours. However theirs go up to about $45,000 I believe.. where their accord way out performs our little tsx.
Get some seat covers or a towel and put it over the seats you intend to use when you get out the car, then take em off when you get in. That should bring it down a bit.

First of all, truly thanks to all inputs
Secondly,
ed_423, yes, I do have the windshield sunshades, at least with that, bright sun not directly hit the front seats.
Tishkevich, yes, that's the procedure what I have done daily, m8. Low all windows/sunroof to let hot air out first, turn up AC with circulating option on, 5' after then hopping and fly home as quick as possible b4 my bu++ sweat, j/k
gr8ness97, Tishkevich, sethdoy, hondu, thanks for letting me know those MDX/RL does have and TL/TSX doesn't.
I personally think this feature should be on all luxury level models, can't just imagine living in a house that has heat for winter but no AC during summer.
Again, thanks all.

I have a CBP with Ebony interior, and I hit the remote start a couple mins before I get in. Even on the 100+ F days, after a good 5 mins, all the interior surfaces are nice and cool

I had the a/c seats in my '07 Lexus IS. They didnt really do anything. The seats just have fans in them, so if the air in the car is hot so is the air coming out of the seats. Not something I miss.

Greetings - just to add, my 2010 PMM TSX, I've noticed that the windows do have a small hint of (factory?) thermal tint, and compared to my old '98 Integra -- which I love still -- makes a big difference. I just put my climate control to auto and it takes care of things very quickly, after I vent all the hot air by remotely lowering all windows as I walk up.
Cooled seats would be really nice, but it's an "entry level" luxury car and I'm ok with it given the alternatives. I would rather have rear-seat AC vents instead, for my family's comfort, if given the choice. Oh, and push-button start. That would go better with the high-tech theme of the car.

Other than the Lexus IS and ES, I can't think of any other vehicles at or above the TSX's price class that offers cooled seats. The A4, 3 Series, C Class, Inifiniti G, TL and VW CC do not include, even as an optionk, and I am not sure about the CTS, Volvos or Saabs.
I think it comes down to cost and the competition. The TSX is the least expensive vehicle in its class and to keep its pricing advantage, it will not have every available feature, especially those features typically reserved for considerably more expensive vehicles.

Tint & shade are your friends. I live in the South and have a black on black and have had no problems.
I agree with others and encourage you to "grow a pair"

sister has an es350 with cooled seats...its nice for like the first 10 minutes and then after that it feels pretty gimmicky, suffice to say noone really gets any use out of them outside of a few rare occasions, and even when they are used its not too noticeable for the first minute or two
i just open all the windows in the tsx and then vent the ac for a minute to flush out the hot air and then off i go

Thanks all for inputs
Benbox, i have to agree with you at the "rear-seat AC vents" feature. It would be nice if it does implemented.
coffeefingers, dang, you read my mind. That's what I did during super hot summer days
YEMM, I was thinking about getting some sort of seat cover, but it does look ridiculous.
I guess I have to get used to it or spray my bu++ with "FreeZ-It" before hoping in .
Thanks all.
