New Owner Questions

I recently purchased an 2014 Acura TSX and I have some questions that I hope folks here can answer:

1. On what model are engine compartment covers standard?

2. Seems like there are many plastic textures on the interior and some like protectant better than others. If I would looking for a plastic cleaner that left no residue, streaks across all the surfaces etc…what would you recommend?

3. Just want to confirm that there is no phonebook voice dial unless I create a voice tag for each entry. My last car could phonetically figure it out who to dial wondering if the TSX can do the same.

4. Are the sport versions quieter than the others? I seem to remember less noise on the extended test drive.

Thanks for the assist!

Congrats on the purchase.

1-robpp got that one.

2-dry microfiber for everything. No reason to use any product, all they do is deposit oils into the plastics. except the faux wood, a damp mf towel works well for that.

3-If I'm not mistaken, the tech package offers that.

4-if by sport you mean the special edition, then no, the road noise is annoying considering the caliber of car the TSX is trying to be.

I'm going to ask a stupid question, but what exactly are engine covers?

Also as a new owner I'd like to know who has the best fitting windshield sun blocker? I always have trouble with the generic ones.

All the plastic around the engine that covers components are considered engine cover. Some cars cover most of the engine

Thanks all, I ordered the protectant wipes from Amazon.

Is that picture the 4 or 6 cylinder?

I wonder if I can just order the covers myself and install them? I have the 4 cylinder model.

That is the 6 cyl which is pictured.
They don't make covers for the 4, as far as I know.

Only reasons for engine covers are if you are a neat freak, or want as much noise dampening as possible.

Wouldn't engine covers just make it even hotter under the hood?

Yeah it would. I always rip the covers off immediately. Just makes it more annoying to work on stuff.

Would you happen to know the product name so I could Google it? I have one right now but I have to use the visors to keep it up which is really annoying. These are the ones I've stumbled upon so far.

I did not want to deal with putting that in and taking it out. I tinted using Llumar Ceramic Air Blue 80% tint and Llumar Ceramic Pinnacle 40 (42)

On my old Audi A3 the covers were part of the intake and mods to it require you to remove them. On the other hand modern engines are just not as "pretty" as the old days.
