New member intro. (At least I brought pics...)
Hi fellow 2nd Gen TSX'ers (and beyond),
I'm Adam and this is my car, an 09 w/tech:
I bought it cash+trade for this (from the day that it was new) *salute*:
And if you're wondering why; I can gladly give you a stammering, collar-tugging sort of an explanation that includes the words "oil leaks" and "flywheel."
I really loved my old S4, I had her for about 5 years and put about 90,000 miles on her carfax. (On one clutch, I might add.) But upon an evaluation from my mechanic she wasn't bound to do 91,000 miles on one more of anything, so I felt strongly and impulsively that it was time to make the move I had been planning to make for a while:
I test drove the TSX and liked that, despite having a 4 cyl, the 2.4 handles itself completely adequately compared to the 4.2l 8 cyl I had in the S. Sure the S had all of the cookie cutter blanket statements I could make about it, but the TSX is enough of what I need when I'm in my regular venue, the road/highway.
When I'm at my alternate venue, I have:
So, don't worry about me, I will be shredding corners when I need to shred corners!
Back on topic: I really love the steering feel from the TSX. When I knew my days of averaging 15mpg were done I was worried that my only option for a cash deal was going to be a front wheel drive nightmare. I really can't believe that this car is an FF, it feels very balanced.
Also, the tech package, overwhelming and talkative, is a very nice addition to my life as the S4 was lacking in bells and whistles. There were days that I'd look at my button-less steering wheel and declare "I'm a purist!" But now, as I'm trying to adjust my speed up but end up blasting my stereo, I look down and say "Crap! I thought there were fewer buttons last time!" (It's sad, considering I'm old fashioned, not old.)
Well, that's what two cents buys you. I'm glad to be here.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! I'm glad some of you guys/gals enjoyed my post. The one question I see a few times is if I have any plans for the car and the answer is a definite yes... but then it gets kind of muddy.
I joined this forum mainly to be inspired by all of you. I suppose you can call me Steve Jobs, then, because I'll likely be copying from someone's test in one way or another
Because I have my MX I'm not crazy about the idea of putting lo pro's on my TXS, or firming up the ride in any way. When I do put new wheels on the car I will likely keep the cushion because, after all, the comfort of the car persuaded the buy very much.
Beyond that, I don't know. Whenever I'm in/around the car I get the nagging feeling that I'm going to make it mine somehow...
Here are a few more pics of the MX for TSXkid2010 (The front plate is now gone, looking at these kind of kills me a little bit inside... then I notice the ride height...):

Ah... If I can edit posts I am not seeing the option. But, I wanted to note that I bought both the MX and the TSX on the same day, hence the temporary CA tags, I actually live in NV, hence the desert

Why not wait for the FT86, err Scion FRS? Trading in my Civic Si for the Tsx and my spouses Civic SE for the 86/BRZ later this year.

Haha, I'm glad I'm a baller, somewhere. Honestly if you guys saw the total bill it really isn't like I'm making it rain everywhere I go. *shhhhhhh*
The purchase of the two cars was a calculated decision that my wife and I planned for, knowing that our current cars were not invincible. We're just the sort that will sit on something until it's "go time."
I promised my wife I would get her a convertible. She really wanted a PRHT vert of some kind and I was actually really surprised that she was willing to compromise and get the Miata. She likes it a ton, and as a former owner of an NA (high school/early college) I LOVE them a ton.

New guy has lots of afterthoughts -
I was surprised at her decision because her other choice narrowed down to an older certified SLK. She like the MX enough that the pro's column outweighed her con's. I was really, really surprised. No coaxing!
