modding your car
i know its just a machine and everything, but, when you mod your car, or even an oil change, do you feel "closer" to your car? Like, its really yours, and your proud of it? I do..
ive also just had 3 beers..hmm..
lol, but seriously..

LOLOLOLOL SHOTSFIRED, It's always personal when you do stuff to your car, a mod is something that reflects the owner and this makes the owner and car "one" with each other

I feel it's a mixture of personal flair and caring for something you paid a crapload of money for. Whether it's rims or an intake we all save up, install/pay and enjoy each modification.
I'm in the "honeymoon" phase and love every minute of it.
My girlfriend on the other hand "tolerates" the car haha! She enjoys it but hates how much time and money it absorbs.. and i've just begun.

^ LOL!! good ones guys...the sandwiches got me euronoob.
car modding has become a hobby to me. i used to not know a thing about cars until i started driving and now i love it. i hate fan boys that goes "only (insert brand) is cool and all other rides can kiss my ass cuz they suck" kinda attitude. as a car enthusiast i dont think you should be able to appreciate different variety of cars, not just bmw, or honda, or lexus, etc. so to me, car modding reflects your personality and your unique creativeness. i have friends that goes "my car is sht im not gona do anything to it" when in reality, they have a decent car.
in short, car modding is a lifestyle.

I don't really mod cars anymore, too old or practical for that stuff these days. Small changes here and there, but nothing over the top. If I pay for a mod, I hope that the increase in performance would lead to some increased level of enjoyment. Beyond that, I don't have any emotional attachment to the car. I try to preserve it and take care of it, but that's more b/c it's an asset and I want to retain it's value and I would take pride in the ownership of the car (keep it in good condition). I never felt 'close' to any of my cars, even the ones I modded heavily in my younger years......you must be watching too much KNIGHT RIDER when you are DRINKING THOSE 3 BEERS
I think the feelings at most for a car could be like a good date that never went anywhere. But that's just my two cents. I don't think my logistical thought process is the norm

Just take your time in modding. My last car was a 90 Civic Si which I owned for 18 years, married and brought home both kids from the hospital in it, had various mods on it and my kids used to call it Vroom Vroom when they were younger.
At the end of the day, it's just a car. Take care of it, mod it to your personal preference and enjoy it. I spend so much time driving to and from work as well as ferrying kids to their activities, putting things I liked to the car is a no brainer to me, because it increase my enjoyment of the ride, plus getting thumbs up from complete strangers (driving Bimmers, Camaro and Civics etc) is nice.
