Love Acura's Factory Warranty!!!
I just thought I share how much I love Acura's warranty ![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Last month I acquired a 2010 TSX, headlights where kind of foggy from the extreme sun here in South FL which is normal down here if you leave the car always parked outside under direct sun.
Well, I thought I'll try my luck and ask the dealer to have them warranty replaced or even polished by the Acura, but they said those have to be inspected personally and approved by the Regional Acura Rep that comes once and month....Friday I dropped off the car and later to my surprised... they got approved!!! and had them in stock!!
Wow those are $600+ each... thanks Acura!!!![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

Nice. I did the same thing to my old Passat. One dealer wouldnt do it and claimed its normal wear and tear. So I take it to another dealer but tell the SA moisture accumulates inside the housing at times. They changed them no questions asked.

Exactly!, it is technically wear and tear. Luckily the dealer granted it

If you know the law then you'll know why these were replaced.
FMVSS 108 requires manufacturers to do a multi-year environmental test to assure that the plastics do not deteriorate. This test cannot be accelerated but is time based.
Accordingly, if a lighting unit fails early then it should be replaced.
I've seen the "lamp farms" from the lighting unit manufacturers - rows and rows of lights exposed to acid rain and sunshine for several years - then washed off and tested for clarity and color.
Any Lexus GS owner with those fading brake lights on the trunklid that is nearly clear should get them replaced under warranty.

I had them repair a damage done by their employee...at their expense. And i was given a loaner. zero cost (except for gas obviously).
