:o I'm curious to know how to unscrew the screws to the muffler! I would like to see how it sounds in person so I might wanna try it to mine.. You could always just screw the screws back on if you don't like it right? How long does it take to do and are there any cons?
Thanks!
Thanks!

As for cons, nothing really, more sound?

Noticed you had the Di-Noc grille first and then went to paint. Was it because you liked the painted look better or did you have problems with the Di-Noc?
Did you have any problems removing the Di-Noc prior to painting?
Looks awesum. I really like the wheels.

no problems removing it. Just used a heat gun and just removed it.

I also wanted to see how my exhaust will sound if I disconnected the muffler. And boy does it sound nice. The videos don't do justice since its not capturing the right pitch and tone of it. The videos make it sound ricey but if you listen to it in person, it sounds great. There is no performance value to it. Its really easy. just unscrew the screws to one of the muffler. I disconnected the driver side muffler.
did you disconnect both of them yet? how does it sound?
i might want to try this since you said it sounds better in person
#95
I dont think it sounds ricey. Usually going exhaustless sounds pretty good in my experience...and to me it doesnt sound like that "tight" honda sound...which is nice. Good stuff man! Is there any drone when your engine braking? I might do the same..

Those look like arms for adjusting toe, not camber. I see your recent post you did call them toe links. Did you already have adjustable camber arms and then just needed this to be able to get everything fully in spec? Your old alignment sheet showed toe was in spec

Yea, I noticed that I was saying the wrong thing. I got toe links.

Definitely try it out first and see if you like it. At worst, you wasted like 20 minutes of your time.
I wish I had proper equipment to record the sound.

defcon, if you go under to do this, can you take a before pic so i know exactly what to do lol,
this also means exhaust is exiting from that gap, yes?

i dove under and looked, its really actually simple. I think the best way would be to add a spacer where the gap is and screw the nuts back on, this way you are positive you wont lose the screw

I have those two nuts stored in my socket set. along with my clips for my bumper which I never put back in. well some of it
#103
ur not worried the screw could slide out from vibration without the nuts holding it in?

Love all of it. Your pics make me seriously reconsider paint-matching my grille (I was always against it until recently).
Also glad you took the plasti-dip off your rims. The all black look was well-intended, but the rims as-is look good and match well with the chrome door trim.

Ohhhh, sweet! Thanks for the info on disconnecting the muffler guys! I'll take a look at my car when I get it back tonight/tomorrow morning. So all you did was just unscrew the screws and left the muffler still "attached"? It just has a gap?
And +1 on KillerG, defcon, could you please take a before pic if you're going to do this. I want to know exactly what I'm doing before I lose a muffler or something :P

Edit: Okay, so I got my car back today from getting fixed (hit and run'd) and I was too curious about this mod and I tried it straight away. The screws are friggen tight as to get out! But when I first got it out and reversed out of my drive way, I heard some rattling noises (probably due to the metal shaking against each other) but I didn't hear anything again after that.
It is a bit more noisy but not too noisy (for me). I also hear more sound coming out when it's under 3000 rpm. I'll see if there's still anymore rattling tomorrow morning when I take it out!
Cheers again for this

ill probably get around to doing this in 2 weeks. ill take pics of course. i just think the bolt will eventually come out. if you took the bolt out completely, then i think there will be metal clanging against each other.

yeah i think itll come out too defcon. ull drive for weeks and then one day no bolt. if you take out the bolt completely, find a few rubber washers and slide em between the pipes, re-insert the bolt and screw the nut back on tightly, i think you will be golden. You will get the gap AND security

As for the rattling of metal, I still heard it a bit today, it's only when I'm in gear 1 and/or 2 and I'm going slowly.. It might just be my shit driving but who knows.

something cheap like this euro:
should be able to get a shitton at any hardware store, just gotta find the right size for the bolt
so basically, remove the bolt, slip the washers between the pipes and align the holes, and then re-insert the bolt so it goes through the pipes and the washers, and then cap it off to prevent any knocking/slipping
hope i could help
i wanna try this too myself...last few finals tomorrow...another sleepless night

I'll upload the other vid in a sec.
And oohhh, alright, thanks Killer :o I'll go have a look at a hardware store soon and try find something for it. So it's called a "rubber washer"?

I think I might try this, one last mod before returning to stock... re: the rubber washer, doesn't the exhaust get really hot? If so you'd need something heat resistant.
