Just took delivery of 2011 TSX wagon w/Tech... some observations...

I put a deposit on an incoming TSX wagon with tech (black on black) about a month ago, and feel pretty fortunate I did. Not only did the dealer build a waitlist on them after I put a deposit on mine, with the tsunami near the TSX plant the dealer said they won't be getting any for an indefinite period now. I feel especially fortunate that the dealer honored my pre-Tsunami deal, $33k including delivery. When I picked up my car yesterday, there was a couple in the showroom that had told the dealership they would take my car right then for MSRP, but the dealer honored my deal. With the delays coming on this car, betting our car will be pretty rare for the next year at least.

Only driven it a bit, but here are my observations thus far:
  1. We got the black because we wanted the ebony interior (I just didn't think the taupe interior compared) and we thought black was the best color paired with it. Car is simply stunning, and seems to be quite the head turner. We did the bodyside moldings and splash guards and I feel they complete the look pretty nicely.
  2. Fit and finish are exceptional. My other car is a Toyota and this, I think, exceeds it.
  3. Surprised now how much road noise there is--It's not bad, but it's there. I had read several reviews discussing how quiet the car was, and hadn't noticed road noise in my test drive.
  4. The TLS stereo is really nice, but not as drop-dead spectacular as the hype would suggest. Definitely notice the difference in quality between a good CD and the XM music (it sounds a bit shallow).
  5. I can understand why some folks may want more power, but I think it's more than adequate, with an asterisk, see #5.
  6. The stock 5-speed auto calibration definitely seems tuned towards fuel economy, and seems to hunt around a bit, at least to this guy who prefers manuals. However, no problem, just shifting into sport mode, I feel, makes the car feel totally different and very peppy. I have also played around a bit with the paddle shifters and think that they work pretty slick as well. Keep in mind this is also at altitude in Denver, and with me babying the car because it is new. So, I feel this car will be plenty quick for 99% of buyers, unless you're looking for a rocketship.
More info as I get more experience with the car, but I believe we'll be very happy with it.

1) I had the option of the graphite or black and chose the black. Just looked a lot nicer
3) Not noticing any road noise, and think mine drives really smooth and quiet

Congrats

Congrats on the wagon, I bought mine a month ago.

I went with the Graphite and Ebony interior, really like the color combo. I miss the power from my old car every now and again but the power in the wagon is fine for everyday driving. I seem to hear more road noise from the rear wheel wells more than anything.

I did notice that when rain hits the side glass it has a very different sound to it.

My wagon is really quiet. Maybe it's because I have the tunes turned up so loud I don't notice it!

Good luck with the car, it's killer!

Wagon w/o tech

purchased 2/3/11 white/taupe... very sharp. quiet, sticks to the road..have to take it back to get the compass calibrated, it was correct when we picked it up...

If the calibration is like other cars go to a parking lot and drive in a counter-clockwise circle a few times, the compass should recalibrate.

Congratulations! I'm a new, first time Acura owner.

Our sales manager sold the two we have within a week of delivery. Both were silver with ebony int. One with tech one without. He also said the can't get them fast enough. I think it's going to be a huge seller for Acura.

I think my wagon is quiet as well. Possibly as quiet as my '02 RL at least in terms of tire noise.

I took delivery of my base model a couple of weeks back. I couldn't justify an extra $3K for stuff my smart phone and ipod already do pretty well. There are a couple of things in the tech package that would be nice to have but they bundle them up with the larger items....I'm waiting for an after-market mod to enable the motorized tailgate function! Great, comfy car with zero buyer-remorse!
