Just bought an '09 6spd and LOVE it...looking to do some preventive maintenance
I just purchased a TSX non-tech 6spd (black on black) with 57K miles a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love this car! It's pretty much everything I wanted in a car that feels as solid as a new one. It's a one owner car and the local Acura dealer had most of the service records for the 5-7k mile oil changes and tire rotations but it doesn't seem like any of the 'big' services were done. I want to stay ahead of the curve with maintenance and am the type of guy that will gladly do the optional little stuff if there is some peace of mind down the road and it keeps the car running at 100%. Here is what I'm thinking.....
1) Acura OEM oil filter and full synthetic oil change
2) Change out the cabin air filter
3) Replace spark plugs with NGK Platinums (that's what comes OEM, right?)
4) Replace serpentine/accessory belt (only comes with one, right?)
5) Change MTF with OEM Acura replacement fluid (is a flush necessary?)
6) Check brakes for wear as this seems to be an issue on these cars but it 'feels' fine so far.
7) Do BG44K full fuel induction system service.
Any other suggestions? I work at dealership (Hyundai) so I plan to have one of the main techs that has previous high line import shop experience do the labor for me and I'll buy the parts. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks!!

Nice! a 6spd!
I also got mine a month ago w/ 67K mi. service record shows regular oil changes and other maintenance but no major ones. So i had the Tranny fluid drained and filled coz I didn't see that one on the service history. Since you're at 57K, I think the tranny fluid service is recommended at 60K, you might wanna add that since you are doing an oil change and a bunch of other stuffs.

the stock plugs(NGK) are good for 105k miles!
no need to change them!!
if your third gear is popping out of gear and in general really notchy, you should look into the GM syncromesh friction modified. Lot's of Honda guys use this stuff to cure any notchiness or third gear grind/pop out. and with the manual tranny, all is needed is a drain and fill.
also, with 57k miles, the serpentine belt/accessory belt DOESNT need to be changed unless its making noises. and the TSX has a timing chain, so no need for service.
what is a BG44k full fuel induction service?if this includes some kind of cleaner for the fuel injectors, this is a waste as well. these cars run super clean. plus, with premium fuels having detergents in them, nothing is super dirty. Dont believe me? pull of the intake manifold and check out the cleanliness.
basically, these cars are pretty basic. and with your list, its a little overkill and wasteful of $.
I would change out all fluids tho. coolant, oil, brake fluid, clutch fluid, tranny fluid.

I've got an 09 6MT with 83,000 miles.
- The oil that's currently used seems to be just fine.
- The cabin air is recommended, easy fix
- Skip the plugs not needed for quite some time. Stick with the factory plugs, they're great.
- If your belt isn't cracking don't worry about it. Mine is showing some wear cracks, so I'm due. It's a sub-$100 part and if you have the time / tool to do it, it's not a big job.
- Don't waste your money on the fuel service. I've been running 91 octane since day one. The car is clean clean. I'm sure it'd be just as fine with 89, 87...
Thanks!
