Farage,
You changed the bulbs on your fog lihgts from stock halogen bulbs to HID bulbs. I bought the HID kit to do this, but i dont know how to acces the bulbs on the fog lights. i dont want to change the fog light itself, just the bulbs. how do i acces the bulbs...?

There is a flip down access panel on the underside of the bumper. If you look in your owner's manual, there are more details in there relating to how to replace the fog lights.

Good Luck!

Alot of people take off the front bumper, but I just took off the fender liner and the access panels underneath the fog lights. Access was very tight but it was not too complicated.

I just got these 55w halogen bulbs for the fogs for $10 shipped on ebay. I was thinking about putting LEDs, but I wasn't sure it would be bright enough and I didn't really want to get an HID kit. I'll post some before/after pics later tonight!

Here's the bulb:

in fact, 55w hids only matters in ballast for differentiating from 35w hids...

i am not so sure which Acura model is your car...but check from this diagram of all stock hid bulbs for Acura models http://www.vvme.com/page.html?chapter=5&id=38

you'd better stick with 35w fogs or if you really need very sharp brighteness for driving long time during night, you can go with 55w for low beams attached by relay harness but not high beams ...like this vvme decent D2s hid kit

55w bulbs are the same size as 35w. however, the capsule that holds the xenon gas is larger.

I actually did get these and they look great. Installation only took about fifteen minutes.

If you read DDM tunings website it's recommended not to run 55W in such a small area especially for fogs, that its draws too much heat. On another note, I'm wondering if I run the 35W kit with 3000K HID if it'll burn my lamin-x film.

someone earlier was saying they had the LED drls and that they sitll had High Beams, he also posted a video showing them.

i think one of the members who didnt have high beams with the LEDs had like a prototype or something maybe(?)

id love to hear back though and confirm that the high beam still exists from other users cause i wanna add them too

Also i used a ddm tuning 4500k 35w kit recently and i got a misfiring ballast which flickers on startup. waiting on replacement parts. Also the bulbs seem to be either different colors (very slight variation) or they need to warm up before they reach optima color, i cant tell because its hard to see both working simultaneously in my garage and theirs snow all over outside it right now ~_~

IIRC, based on the owners manual, the fogs for the Canadian market are 55w from the factory.

That will look perfect. So JDM. I've never liked anything but yellow fogs. White light will never cut through fog like yellow light will. Especially light from a 55watt kit used in the reflector type fog lenses. Light scatters all over the place. Nah... I'll pass on that look.

55watt halogen which def isn't 55 watt hid. It doesn't even match the brightness of 35 watt kits.

alright lets clear a few things up...

1. 55w hid fogs = too much. i run 35w ddm 6000k fogs, thye look great. and shouldnt harm your lamin-x (but im not 100% sure on that)

2. i was the one with the led drl prototype...and i just remember that i actualyl did NOT try out if the highbeam works. however, i sold it to my friend. i installed it on his accord coupe (8th gen) and he told me his high beam doesnt work.

3. a few members who bought the led drl's confirmed that the high beam, indeed, does work. there is a video showing it working as well.

And also, my foglights are cracked, and I was looking at laminx films to cover both of them until I have the money for all new housings. I'm looking at the clear ones so that the new HID foglights I'm getting will look better?
But I'm wondering which one is better, the 20 mil or the 40 mil clear?

h11, correct

also yes to the 35w 4300k hids

just go to ddmtuning.com and go to HID -> 35 watt -> bulb style h11 -> 4500k (or whatever color you like)

now just remember that the color wont be exactly like the stock bulb so if you want a pure matching look you should buy in addition to your h11 kit another 2 d2s 4500k bulbs that you can use in your HIDs so that you have exactly the same color

I went with the ebay slim kit they linked on the front page for $70.
The one on that other site ended up being that much anyway after adding the stuff that came in the ebay kit LOL.

Well the ddm comes with everything you need so nothing extra is required, no error cancelers are necessary since the ballast works fine, and also stickers never hurt

though other people have used the kit you ordered with success and by the pictures it looks to be pretty much exactly the same components in the DDM kit so youll be fine either way. Give em a try for your next order

I'm new to to this so did you guys just replace bulbs? or the whole HID assembly ie the igniters and ballast?

you dont want the raptor kit, DDM sells their own DDM brand kits. and it depends on whether you are replacing your low beams or your fogs. if you wanna change the color of your low beams you can just order the appropriate color d2s xenon bulbs from them, for the fog lights you will need the whole assembly and its pretty simple

for some raising i dont see the DDM tuning kit on their website all of a sudden... weird cause i just ordered some like 2 weeks ago.

I would wait a bit till their own product shows up again, i wouldnt buy those raptors right now.

Course you could always swing over to HIDextra if the wait is unbearable, but its up to you. Ive personally only tried the DDM kit and have been very happy with it and have also heard good things about HIDextra!

when i was looking for hid kits i google ddmtuning and check out a ton of different forums and i had seen a handful of messages here and there saying that their regular kits were of superior quality to the raptor kits, but i just realized ppl could have been saying that because the raptor kits use a bigger ballast

i have an extra slim kit lying around thankfully that i ordered right before they disappeared : O

and also its really strange that their regular slim kit would just up and disappear for no reason ?_?

No slims left?! So the only difference is the size of the ballast pretty much? or are we talking a whole different design etc
