Hello All - 2013 TSX A-spec Vortex blue owner
Well,
AFTER expecting a lease takeover deal to fall through, it worked out in the end.
I am the proud new leasee for a 2013 Acura TSX - Vortex Blue A-spec (in canada, that's the special edition model in the states).
I have 4 months to decide if I will keep this car or return it to the dealer.
The PROS
- last manual transmission Acura in the foreseeable future
- I expect it to be reliable
The CONS
- that grill (I'm thinking of having it blacked out with vinyl. I believe color match is the best but this is a lease for now)
- power/platform is aging => 201 hp, no push button start, FWD only
The competitor... The new WRX is a pretty good deal and is still available in stick. The Q50 is a nicer looking car but only available in Auto with an aging engine.
Here's hoping and praying that Acura will come to their senses and re-release a manual for the TLX. Their automatic transmission (for the 9 speed anyways) has not had good reviews.
Also, if there are any 2nd gen TSX owners with vortex blue and a blacked out grill, I would appreciate pictures.
Thanks in advance guys.

Honda just released the civic Si and soon the type-R.
the Si gets 190lbs/ft of torque from it's turbo....you bet Hondata has something in store for this!
Flashpro gained 20lbs/ft of torque on the civic sport 1.5Turbo..
the best part is that in comes with a six speed manual!!
however, it's routed to the front wheels....
I have a 2006 6MT TL and i've been pondering lately...
the TL is way to big for me! I think I may want a smaller car in the future!

Thanks for the warm welcome.
I'm from Toronto, Ontario area and I have to say, I've been really positively surprised so far with the car over the last few days.
One of my big fears was that it would be underpowered but it really does have zip when you push the pedal. Also, I've never experienced the Honda 6MT transmission before and on the TSX, it is really fun and smooth (I've had a Toyota and Subaru MT cars before).
Finally, from the inside - the electronics are a bit finicky but the overall driver's cockpit is acceptable. Yes, I know it's an accord, but my family always loved our Honda's...
I'll upload pictures once I get that chrome front-grill blacked out.
ON another note, I found a guy in Toronto that can sell, cut and program a keyfob and key for $150 (cash). The dealership wanted $460. (previous owner lost one of the keys).

Ok. Just had my car grill vinyl wrapped.
Shout out to WrapID in Markham for getting me in and out in 30 min. Great job and Richard Tran is the guy that looked after me there.
I was originally going to wrap just the beak but after seeing some online pics, decided to wrap the chrome trim as well.
Sadly, my 8 year old says he liked it better in silver
In case someone does a search...
This is a 2013 A-Spec Vortex Blue TSX with Front Grill wrapped in 3m black vinyl
Before
After 3m Gloss black vinyl wrap

Nice car! I still regret passing on the opportunity to own a '13 Blue A-Spec w/ 6MT at the time I bought my '12 Black A-Spec.
I have to agree with your son on the silver, but the black doesn't look bad! I think the OEM colour gives it more contrast.
