I got a flat tire from hitting a pot hole exceptionally hard and had to work the spare tire, that wen't well. As long as I was at the tire shop anyway I bought the stiffer Goodyear carbon fiber reinforced tires. They definately help remedy the wobbly imprecision of the stock setup, so the car is now as easy to point as the 1G but due to the electronic stearing it still doesn't have the same degree of feedback the 1G had. That's one of the few things the 1G has in its favor. I think if the OEMs were stiffer the car would have received better reviews.

Interesting, I spent many years in the tire business and Goodyear can be hit or miss with their innovative products, good to know this new one is the real deal!
I think they went more posh on the second gen. TSX, I don't know if that is for better or worse, but I suspect it will be even more popular and sell better - so for Acura it is probably the right move. As enthusiasts we sometimes forget that we are the minority, the average consumer is fairly oblivious to the automotive world around them.

I hear that, and sometimes I think when people demand a stiffer ride they are really demanding to be tortured for the sake of being tortured because their favorite car from back in the day was torture. The RSX is torture. But in this case I think I gained a lot and lost almost nothing except money. I read that they included kevlar somewhere somehow to cut down on road noise as well.
