Front License Plate

Front License Plate
How is your front license plate mounted? My front plate is mounted in the bracket supplied by the dealer. The two screws underneath the bracket screw in to the mesh grill, but it appears the bracket is not a snug fit with the bumper. It seems very lose and I am worried that as I am driving the plate is smacking against my bumper and possibly scratching it. The dealer said to make it a snug fit they could screw the bracket directly into the bumper, but I would prefer to not screw directly into the bumper (Here's to hoping that Illinois will remove the stupid front license plate law). I will see if I can snap a photo tomorrow to show the current mount.

its mounted pretty well, but not to the bumper, but the lower grill area. i didnt like the look of it so i just took it off instead of having to drill the bumper. if you want to take it off unscrew the plate off and use a torque wrench to take out the bolts in the two deep holes in the mount

WTH happened to my garage
Mine was relocated to a dumpster adjacent to the new car delivery area.
But seriously, a couple different sources at two different dealers say that if it doesn't fit flush & tight they will screw it to the bumper cover.
You might try removing it and reinstalling it with like...some door edge molding along the rear lip that faces the bumper. It might give you enough of a buffer where it won't chafe from vibration as much.
