Finally joined the crew.. 2014 Wagon
Hey guys,
Great forum! These threads have been my bedtime stories nearly every night over the past couple month or so lol ... but last weekend I finally landed the TSX of my dreams. One owner, CPO, 28k on the clock. Pretty huh?
After a few afternoons of snooping around every nook and cranny I've only found 1 issue that is bugging me and wondering if anyone out there can offer some advice:
The parking brake feels loose when not engaged. There's a little bit of play in the arm when I go to lift and engage the brake before it becomes firm and brake is being applied... maybe 1/2". It also seems to wiggle just a bit left and right, about 1cm. This doesn't seem to jive with how well put together everything else in the cabin feels. Is this normal? Worth taking to the stealer? Something I can fix myself?
Looking forward to years of enjoying the car and following along on here. Thanks!

The wagon is a great car. I've had two (the first was white too). I'll have to check my parking brake in the morning but I don't think it is loose.

Sweet!
My 2012 CPO Wagon has a little play in the hand brake, but functions just fine. After a year of ownership. I enjoy this Honda as a really useful and fun daily driver.....welcome to the club!

I have the same play you mention, it's normal. Almost every honda I have owned has this initial play till it reaches the cables. Even my F30 BMW had this as well, just not as pronounced.

Agreed...same with my 5 Preludes, 2 RSXs, Legend GS.....never any reliability issue with that component. For me, the TSW wagon is a link to 'old school' Honda....good build quality, bulletproof reliability and the adapted 2.4 Civic SI motor plays a little above its weight. Another 30 HP would be great, but it's a balanced package and the suspension invites some fun in the twisties.
