Drivers in NYC area, wanna meet up and wash/detail our cars together?

My car is a week old and i'm doing as much research as I can on how to wash/detail it. I am a total newbie to everything. I plan on purchasing everything I need in a few weeks, and look forward to my first full detail (i know it's a new car, but whatever, it won't hurt it right? Only make it better...) no later than mid August... preferably early August (or earlier if the learning/purchasing process goes quicker than expected).

I live in Queens. Anyone wanna wash/detail together?

I don't have access to a hose but I think I know a great place to do it, free and all.

I know this is a long shot but I figured why not?

Thanks for reading.

(PS: I'm not sure if this was the right place to put this thread)

Well Im in Queens too, and that sounds like a great idea except that I still don't have my TSX. Im looking to purchase end of August, early September, buy definitely would be up for that later this year. Also, not sure where in Queens you live, but if you can recommend any good car washes in the area, I'd appreciate it. I've been going to E. Shore Car Wash on Northern Blvd in Manhasset for years and like it, but there must be something more centrally located in Queens worth going to! Anyway, I'll let you know once I have my TSX, but until then...who else is up for this?

FYI, if you haven't visited the Wash & Wax Subforum you really ought to. There is a lot of really good info there for a beginner and some really experienced detailers to answer questions.

Just having a little fun with the members. I think meets are a great way to learn more about our cars, whether its installing mods or comparing washing techniques.

are you currently detailing your car? it doesn't have to wait until your new TSX

to jlukja: thanks for the advice, i've already done a bit of reading and posting of my own in the wash and wax section

would this thread be better suited there?

This seems to be a hybrid thread that best fits here, under TSX Forum. I could see how it could be in Wash & Wax or in the Meets section but lets just keep it here for now. If it starts straying too far off topic its going to get locked down.
