Cutting up the OEM grill

i dont plan to do this with my own OEM grill but if i can find a used 09-10' or even an 11-12' grill, ill definitely do it.

just dremel out the shape in green, wrap that shit in cf vinyl or paint match it, slap on the acura in the center. modulo grill for FREEhundred.

any gaps or voids will be filled in with plastic welding and body filler

in regards to the acura logo, id reuse the old one dremel the back part so it can just snap over the middle piece of the grill.

if needed, a mesh can easily be found on ebay or amazon

shitty photoshops incoming:

Here's what i think you wanna do:

Cutting up the OEM grill-sk1lm.jpg

I modified stock grill, didnt move it, removed lower bars, put a mesh behind it, and added an emblem over what i think you were picturing. Im not too crazy about it, in general im not too crazy about alotta 2011 designs because i think the frame is too small to work with.

This is what it would look like if we repositioned the stock grill lower and hollowed out the center. Not too crazy about this either. For the record i think we should give this type of design a new name, we all know that RJ is gonna be working on any tsx projects anymore, and its not like he has a copyright on horizontal bars, so from now on im referring to this as the tsxkid grill.

If this tsxkid bars are positioned lower they dont look aggressive enough so this design is weird, but this one below looks a little better:

paintmatched outer grill and slanted tsxkid bars that better follow the creases of the headlights, now were talking, but im still not thrilled, mainly cause of the small frame like i said

for fun, c-mod tsx 2011-2013 grill possibility:

the most attractive idea as far as i'm concerned is adding a center bar to c-mods grill, it looks good in its current form and if he can deliver a quality piece at a decent price it wouldnt be too bad to work with on a DIY, my vote goes to the grill below

its simple, aggressive, and not too similar to he-who-shall-not-be-named's concept pictures.

Actually that last one would be very interesting to see fabricated.

I think that modifying a stock frame is also one of the easiest ways to go fitment wise, as well
