coilover help!

I'm looking to purchase coilovers for my 2012 TSX but i dont know much about what kind of coilovers people are using on the 2nd gen TSX....i've searched around on the site and all that really came up was Tein SS or basics.

What i want to know is how good are the Tein SS and also what other brand coilovers have people put on their TSX. How's the ride with the Teins? How's the ride with other brand coilovers people have?

All input will be appreciated.

Teins SS is one of the best coil-overs "opinion" my only problem with them is the price and don't come with upper hats, the Basic I hear that there just to stiff no dampening. I've ran Megan SS in the past on my 08 Accord was happy until I purchased my TSX and installed Ksports . NOW I can say I'm happy with this set-up I also know ppl with BC's and Megan EZ's and there good as well. Keep in mind that Teins don't go as low as the rest of the coil-overs out there

thanks guys.....i'm not planning on dropping it to low

08r3308 does the bc v1 adjustable and do they required other parts or do they come ready to put on?

chaqui74 so the Tein SS need upper hats to be able to install them? also are the ksports adjustable?

Bc v1 is fully adjustable and pre assembled.
No need to use any stock bits.
They are 10k front and 6k rear .

I have tein ss, the install was kind of annoying but I absolutely love them, my car stays incredibly flat in the corners and the ride has not been butchered. It is still without being jaw breaking. I have set at level 7 out of 14 all around

I got the Megan EZ street coilovers, but I sat in my friends TSX with the BC racing ones 08r3308 has. If I had the money, I would have got the BC racing coils. Megans are GREAT though any how

What ride quality would you guys say is closest to stock? I threw on eibachs on my mk5 rabbit and the thing went from stock (which was a mess) to nice and night but slightly annoying as you, yourself became a shock. After buying the TSX, I am in love with the suspension feeling, but want to go lower, without compromising the OEM feel too much.

Thanks

In the overall tuner world, I haven't heard great things about BC coils. I've heard decent things about Megan, but the brand isn't particularly esteemed. If I were you, I'd go with the Teins as they've done much better in terms of reliability across the multiple platforms that they sell them for. You might want to try the ISC ones since they are on sale right now

If money is tight, the Megan coilovers seem like a great option. The best thing about them to me is that they are ready to install with top hats already in place. I have Tein SS, and I bought additional top hat pieces for about $75 so that I didn't have to dismantle my stock units. I had Tein SS on my old Saab 9-2x and loved them. They are a great value IMO without having to question their quality. I feel more confident about their ability to last longer before needing replaced, and they can be rebuilt in the future. I would have gone with KW or H&R, but I really wanted them to be more adjustable. However the thing that will help KW and H&R kits give an improved ride is that I believe they are the only ones which have progressive rate springs. Unless a shop has installed a variety of suspensions back to back in the same car, you are going to have a difficult time getting accurate reviews. Therefore, brand reputation and features such as damper adjustability and progressive rate springs have to be considered.

^Did you buy stock top hats for $75 a piece or for all 4? Sorry I'm new to suspension and plan on going the Tein SS route, the only thing bothering me was the top hats

No that was the total cost for all of the materials to get top hat parts. It would take a search, but I found the part numbers for everything needed on one of the Tein install threads.

My twin as delivered I noticed they marked R and L side.
Since im in Australia and we drive in wrong side of road should I install as per part numbers.
Only diff is drivers weight I guess this is why they labeled fronts L and R.
Rears dont have L and R

I think the only difference is the bracket for wheel speed sensor wire compare to stock should not matter what side of road you drive on

I've heard nothing but great things about the new version BC BR coils. I wonder how they compare to the Tein SS? I'm torn between the two as of right now.

Honestly, I dont like Tein cause I've sat in a few of my friends car and they didn't ride as good as my Megans. Also, they dont go very low and require assembly and use of OEM top hats. I would rather buy BC racing or Megan. But thats just me. Maybe im just lazy but I liked that I could install my coilovers as is straight out of the box. Not to mention the price of Megan EZ's..

Our new XLR8 ISC coilovers are another great option for a coilover.

http://store.excelerateperformance.c...s/g-65477.aspx

The N1 coilover can be lowered approximately 3 inches lower then standard ride height. The spring rates are set up specifically to suit your car and therefore will improve handling and stability dramatically. We can make packages for track/rally/drag and of course street. Our lineup will specifically be designed towards the street/sport customer. However, to offer more flexibility we will offer the option for custom spring rates at no extra charge. This will require extra time though depending on what is in stock.

Features:

32 Steps of Damper Adjustment

Precise control of valving/damping (rebound only)
Operates smoothly on all road surfaces
Expansion/Suppression of shock adjustment

Pillowball Uppermount (RSX) or Aluminum Upper Mounts

Adjustable camber allows more/less on road track for all conditions (RSX only)

Piston Rod Design

Strengthened steel piston rods
Meets race/sport standards

Sports Spring

Made from high quality SAE9254 steel
Tested over 500,000 times on compression inspection with less than 5% deformation
Choose from Street Comfort, Street/Sport or Track/Race (spring rates vary depending on application, for specs check the application guide or ask us when you order, custom spring rates are free). Spring rates are typically as follows for the Acura models: Street Comfort 10/6 Street/Sport 12/8 Track/Race is 14/10.

Ride Height Adjustable

Full length height adjustable
Pre-load adjustable with separate spring locks
High quality T6061 aluminum alloy used for all adjustment locks to provide a lightweight design that holds spring and vehicle down force

Aluminum Bracket

Made from T6061 aluminum alloy by organic shaping to lighten weight and increase handling performance
Specially anodized surface to prevent internal corrosion and surface rust
On various models camber can also be adjusted via the bracket as well as the camber tops (RSX only)

Single Cylinder Design

Monotube construction
Larger cylinder and piston design to advance driving stability and dexterity

Im actually pretty intrigued by the ISC coilovers. I would totally give them a shot if I needed to replace my megans honestly.

Tein SS hands down , i went the BC route and was not happy, go to Google and type BC coilovers clunking and you will see what i mean , so many people complain about this noise.
